Chapter 92 - The Last Page

Chapter 22 — The Last Page

The endless rain draped the town in silver, each drop catching the dim light and turning it into a soft shimmer. At the Blue Harbor Café, the smell of wet wood and brewing coffee mixed with the salty tang of the sea. Hiten and Aarya sat across from each other, their hands brushing over the old sketchbook and letters that had led them here. Outside, the waves mirrored her eyes — the same deep, endless blue — and for a moment, the world felt like a dream merging seamlessly with reality.

Hiten reached for his notebook, carefully opening it to a blank page. His pen hovered for a heartbeat before he began to write, words flowing like rain over a windowpane.

"The rain never stopped. Neither did we. Every drop carried a memory, every gust whispered a promise, and every puddle reflected the world we dreamed together. I found you where the story began, in the quiet streets, under the endless sky. And there, I realized that dreams are not meant to stay in sleep — they are meant to lead us to each other."

Aarya leaned closer, her eyes tracing every line. "It's… perfect," she whispered. "You captured everything — the rain, the moments, even us."

Hiten smiled softly, his eyes never leaving the page. "It's all because of you. All because you were there, even when I thought it was just a dream."

From the corner of his eye, Dev watched quietly, a faint smile tugging at his lips. He had followed them through every clue, every sketch, every heartbeat of the journey. "Some stories," he murmured under his breath, "are meant to live beyond the pages."

Aarya chuckled softly, nudging Hiten's shoulder. "And some stories are meant to be lived."

Hiten glanced up at her, and for the first time in a long while, he didn't see just the girl from his dreams — he saw the reality of her smile, the warmth of her hand, the certainty that had guided him here. Slowly, they removed their pendant and bracelet, placing them carefully on the café table. A small, silent ritual to mark the crossing from dream to life.

"I knew you existed, Dumbo," Aarya said, teasing, a playful glint in her eyes.

Hiten smirked, shaking his head. "I knew that too, Miss Angry Muffin."

They laughed together, a sound bright enough to mix with the patter of rain outside, enough to warm the chill of months spent searching, dreaming, and hoping.

For a moment, time held its breath. The sea glimmered with endless reflections, the café glowed softly with lights, and outside, the rain danced like it had never known an end. They were together. The past and present had merged, the dreams and reality entwined, and the world seemed to sigh in contentment.

Hiten glanced down at the notebook one last time, reading aloud the final lines he had written:

"The rain never stopped. Neither did we."

Aarya smiled, leaning her head gently against his shoulder. Dev watched them, a satisfied grin spreading across his face, knowing that this chapter — the one they had all been waiting for — was finally, perfectly complete.

And outside, the rain fell, gentle yet unending, as if celebrating the story that had come alive.
