Gabriel smiled as the doctor in charge of his father's treatments quietly left the reception hall. However, the moment she turned a corner and was out of sight, that smile vanished.
He sighed, hands on his waist as he lowered his head.
Five weeks.
They were going to give him a series of treatments and would also have to keep him mostly within the hospital walls… for five weeks.
He wasn't even supposed to be here.
Heaven knows he meant what he told his parents the last time they met.
But his mother had found a good church to worship at and insisted on attending their service today. She pleaded he come stand in for her.
