Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

Hey lads

Moving on, we have chapter 15!

The continuation of the fight!

I do hope you all like it, because it's gonna be a blast!

Start:

The battlefield was dead silent.

The remaining fighters stood frozen, their breaths shallow, their bodies rigid. The weight of the massacre pressed down on them like a suffocating force. Six of their comrades lay dead—four pawns, a rook, and a bishop—all slain in rapid succession by the monster standing before them.

Naruto Phenex exhaled, golden flames flickering around him as he casually rolled his shoulders. His piercing blue eyes, burning with an intensity that sent shivers down spines, surveyed the remaining warriors.

The silence was broken by the sharp, panicked breaths of the last standing bishop.

"N-No…" The bishop took a stumbling step back, his face a mask of pure terror. "No, no, no… this can't be happening… He's… he's not normal! He's a monster! A FUCKING MONSTER!"

His voice cracked, hysteria creeping into his tone. His comrades turned to look at him, their expressions ranging from shock to horror.

"Raiza, what are you—" one of the knights began, but the bishop now known as Raiza cut him off with a frenzied shriek.

"I refuse to die like this!" Raiza howled. He slammed his hands together, his demonic power surging wildly as glowing red glyphs exploded to life in the air around him.

Before anyone could react, a translucent, impenetrable dome of pure energy formed around them, locking everyone—except himself—inside with Naruto.

A barrier.

A massive one, reinforced with layers upon layers of defensive sigils.

There was a long, stunned silence as everyone processed what had just happened.

Then—

"You cowardly bastard!" a pawn roared, his fists trembling with barely contained rage. "You trapped us in here?! With HIM!?"

"You've lost your damn mind, Raiza!" another spat, his voice thick with disbelief. "You're leaving us to die?!"

The remaining knight took a slow step forward, his silver blade shaking in his grip. "You… you were our comrade. And now you throw us away?"

The bishop didn't respond. His body was shaking violently, his wide eyes locked onto Naruto, who stood completely still, gazing at him with undisguised disgust. The bishop swallowed, his lips parting as if to say something—

But then Naruto vanished.

A flash of golden light.

A flicker of motion faster than the eye could track.

And suddenly—

Naruto was outside the barrier.

Directly behind the bishop.

Time seemed to freeze.

The remaining warriors inside the dome stood motionless, their expressions ranging from stunned disbelief to sheer horror. None of them had seen what had happened. One moment Naruto was inside—

The next, he was outside.

"How…?" a knight whispered in shock.

He teleported!? He could do that!?

The bishop barely had time to turn before Naruto's voice, calm and utterly merciless, cut through the air like a blade.

"Pathetic."

Before Raiza could even scream, Naruto's fist shot forward, piercing clean through his back and out his chest.

Everyone's eyes from inside the barrier, their eyes widened in shock as they beheld the spectacle.

Blood spilled from Raiza's lips as he coughed, his fingers twitching uselessly. He tried to turn his head, as if to look at Naruto one last time, but the Phenex heir twisted his fist inside the wound.

A sickening squelch.

A gargled gasp.

And then, Naruto ripped his arm free.

The bishop crumpled forward, dead before his body even hit the ground.

The barrier shattered instantly, its creator now lifeless. The energy dome dispersed into nothingness, freeing the rest of the peerage.

They did not move. Did not speak.

Naruto eyed them, his expression cold, his voice carrying an undeniable finality.

"I will offer you this chance only once," he said, his voice calm but commanding. "Surrender. Do not interfere any longer. I do not enjoy needless killing."

There was no hesitation.

The remaining fighters, pale and visibly shaken, dropped their weapons. Several of them, including the surviving pawns and the second knight, let out breathless, relieved exhales. One pawn, barely holding himself together, fell to his knees, trembling.

"I… I surrender," he whispered. "I just… I just want to live."

"Same here," another choked out, his voice raw with exhaustion and fear. "I've had enough."

One by one, the remaining warriors nodded, stepping back in silent submission.

Naruto closed his eyes momentarily before he reopened them and turned away from them, facing a particular direction where his actual opponent was located.

Lord Furcas and his queen were still somewhere beyond the battlefield, where the last of his clones were keeping them occupied. He had wasted enough time here. It was time to finish this.

He took a step forward.

And that's when it happened.

A flicker of intent.

It was a disgusting feeling—like the writhing of vermin in the dark. He sensed it immediately, long before their bodies could even begin to move.

Betrayal.

For the umptieth time, Naruto thanked any higher existence who was responsible for him awakening the emotion-sensing ability that he retained after awakening it in his second life as Naruto Uzumaki.

It was almost amusing. Almost. After everything—after he had offered them mercy, after they had practically collapsed in relief at the chance to walk away—this was their response?

Pitiful.

But Naruto didn't react. Not yet. He kept walking, his posture calm, as if completely unaware of what was coming. He listened, waiting as they crept closer.

Their breathing grew steadier. Their grips on their weapons tightened. Magic surged subtly through their bodies as they prepared to strike.

A knight. A rook. A pawn.

They led the charge, emboldened by the illusion of an opening.

Cowards.

A scornful thought crossed Naruto's mind—were they truly so desperate to believe that turning his back meant he was vulnerable? Had they not seen enough?

Fine. He would remind them.

Just as the first blade was about to pierce his spine—

Naruto vanished.

A golden flash erupted in the air. A blink, faster than thought. One moment, he was within their grasp—the next, he was standing exactly where he had been before he teleported the first time, his arms crossed loosely over his chest.

The betrayers stumbled, their attacks cutting through empty space. The knight's blade passed harmlessly through the air. The rook's fist, reinforced with layers of demonic energy, smashed into the ground instead, sending cracks splintering across the battlefield. The pawn, whose daggers had been poised for Naruto's throat, nearly lost his footing from the sheer momentum of his failed strike.

They froze.

Slowly, ever so slowly, Naruto tilted his head, his piercing blue gaze locking onto them. There was no anger. No irritation. Just… disappointment.

"I was going to let you live."

His voice was calm, but in that very calmness, there was something more terrifying than rage. A cold finality.

The remaining fighters flinched.

Naruto took a step forward.

The knight—foolish, arrogant—snarled and rushed him again. Perhaps he thought he could still catch Naruto by surprise. Perhaps he thought numbers would make a difference.

Naruto sighed.

And then—he moved.

Faster than the eye could track. Faster than thought itself.

One second, the knight was mid-charge—

The next, Naruto was standing directly in front of him, a single hand raised lazily.

The knight had no time to react before Naruto's palm smashed into his chest.

A deafening boom echoed across the battlefield as the knight was launched backward, his body breaking the sound barrier as he slammed into a crumbling rock formation, embedding deep within the stone.

The battlefield shook from the sheer force. Blood spattered from the cracks in the stone where his body had impacted, his armor caving in around his torso. He wasn't dead. Not yet. But he wouldn't be standing anytime soon.

Naruto turned his attention to the rook next.

The massive devil, seeing what had just happened, roared in defiance and charged, his colossal fists coated in layers upon layers of demonic energy. He was strong, perhaps the strongest physically among them.

But strength meant nothing.

Naruto let him come.

The rook swung his fist—faster than any normal warrior his size should have been able to move. The sheer pressure of his punch sent small shockwaves outward before it even landed.

Naruto didn't flinch.

At the very last second, he caught the rook's wrist.

A moment of silence.

Then—

CRACK.

The rook's arm twisted violently, bending at an unnatural angle. A howl of agony tore from his throat, but Naruto didn't stop there.

With a brutal yank, he flipped the rook over his shoulder, slamming him headfirst into the ground. The sheer impact caused the battlefield to quake, the force creating a crater beneath them.

The rook's body spasmed. He coughed, blood spewing from his mouth. His one remaining arm clawed weakly at the ground, trying to push himself up.

Naruto placed a single foot on his back and pressed down.

The rook let out a choked gasp as his ribs began to crack beneath the pressure.

Naruto didn't apply his full strength. Not yet.

Instead, he glanced toward the pawn—the last of the three who had dared to betray his mercy.

The pawn had stopped moving entirely.

Terror gripped his body, his daggers trembling in his hands. His eyes darted between his fallen comrades, his mouth opening and closing as if trying to find words that would save him.

Naruto tilted his head slightly. "You seem to regret your decision."

The pawn swallowed hard. "I—I… I didn't—"

"Just be quiet."

Naruto snapped his fingers.

A single column of golden fire erupted beneath the pawn's feet.

The devil screamed, his body instantly engulfed in flames. Unlike the others, whose deaths had been swift—this one was slow. The fire burned through flesh and bone alike, reducing the pawn to nothing more than ashes within seconds.

Naruto lowered his hand.

He glanced down at the rook still trapped beneath his foot. "As for you…"

The rook let out a ragged breath, blood dripping from his lips. He tried to speak, to plead, but Naruto had already made up his mind.

With a flick of his wrist, golden flames coiled around his fingers.

Then—

He pressed down.

The rook's body tensed.

And then, with a sickening crunch, his entire torso caved in beneath the force. His spine shattered. His ribs collapsed inward. His skull cracked against the fractured earth.

Naruto stepped off of the lifeless corpse, flicking his wrist to shake off the remnants of blood.

Two more down.

Only one remained from the three who had dared attacked him after the chance he had given them.

Naruto turned his head slightly, his gaze falling upon the knight—the first one he had taken down.

The knight was still embedded in the rock formation, barely conscious. His body was limp, his breathing ragged, his armor dented beyond recognition. Blood ran down the side of his face, his sword long forgotten at his side.

Naruto exhaled slowly. He took a step forward—

A blur of motion.

A silver flash in the dim light.

And then—

A figure stepped in front of him.

Naruto stopped, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in the sight before him.

It was the female knight.

The only one who he could sense, with his emotion sensing ability, held no ill will towards him.

While everyone in Lord Furcas's peerage felt murderous intent, with most hating him after he had killed some of their own, she alone was the exception.

He had known that from the start of the battle.

And that understanding was only made more prevalent as when he had his back turned, she was the only one who didn't feel any rage, hate, or harbored any negative emotion towards him excluding fear.

Even the other three who hadn't attacked him like that one pawn, the male knight, and the remaining rook, those three, the remaining pawns, their emotions flared powerfully when his back was turned.

As though they too were going to attack.

Only they happened to be slower in response to the other three who did attack.

Once again, only this female knight lacked any hatred or anger towards, and was the only one who actually surrendered unlike her comrades.

Which made this action of hers very, very…

Interesting.

Especially as a rampaging storm of fear swept within her. A fear that he noticed with ease. She stood before him, her blade held tightly at her side—not in a stance of aggression, but as a silent shield.

Naruto stared at her, his expression unreadable.

Despite feeling so much fear, she still was standing her ground.

The seventh hokage couldn't help but feel very intrigued towards her.

But that intrigue and curiosity would have to wait for a little bit.

He turned his gaze to the side, where his sight met that of the last three pawns.

The weakest of the group from what he could sense.

The three remaining pawns stood frozen, their bodies rigid with fear. They had hesitated before, but now, with the battlefield littered with their fallen comrades, hesitation no longer mattered. They had made their choice.

Instinctually they were now in a position where it was they either run or fight.

The flight or fight response.

And as though recognizing the futility of running considering that the monster before them could teleport, they had no other choice but resort to violence, no matter how futile.

Naruto regarded them with disinterest, rolling his shoulders. His golden flames flickered subtly, casting a soft glow against the scorched ground.

Already knowing what was to come.

And true to his prediction…

They moved.

The first pawn, a lanky devil with a jagged spear, lunged forward, aiming directly for Naruto's throat. The second, wielding twin sabers, shot in from the side, his blades glowing with cursed energy. The last, a spellcaster, began weaving intricate sigils mid-air, his lips moving in a frantic incantation.

Naruto sighed.

Pathetic.

Before the spear-wielding pawn could even process what happened, Naruto appeared directly in front of him, faster than thought. His golden eyes locked onto the devil's panicked gaze—

Then—

CRACK!

Naruto's knee drove into his stomach with monstrous force, lifting him off the ground. A sickening wheeze escaped the pawn's lips as his ribs shattered on impact. But Naruto wasn't finished. He twisted his body, grabbed the spear midair, and impaled the devil through his own gut, the weapon bursting out of his back in a spray of crimson.

The pawn let out a strangled gasp, his limbs twitching weakly before Naruto yanked the spear free and let the body drop lifelessly to the ground.

One down.

The twin-saber pawn snarled, his weapons flashing as he swung with all his might, aiming to carve Naruto apart. He was fast, but Naruto was faster.

With minimal effort, Naruto caught the devil's wrists mid-strike, stopping him dead in his tracks. The pawn's eyes widened in horror—

Before Naruto twisted.

SNAP!

Both arms bent backward at unnatural angles. A bloodcurdling scream tore from the devil's throat as he fell to his knees, his weapons clattering to the ground.

Naruto didn't let him suffer.

He placed a hand over the devil's head—

And incinerated him in a flash of golden flames.

Two down.

The final pawn stumbled backward, his spell dying on his lips as pure terror consumed him. His entire body trembled, his knees nearly buckling. He fell onto his backside, raising his hands in desperate surrender.

"W-Wait! Please!" he choked out. "I-I wasn't going to—"

Naruto took a slow step forward, his eyes dark and merciless.

"You were preparing to attack me."

The pawn whimpered. "I-I—"

"While you could argue that you didn't attack, you were getting ready to..." Naruto's voice was quiet. "Understand that you put me in this position."

The pawn let out a strangled sob, shaking his head frantically. "P-Please! I—"

Naruto didn't bother hearing him out.

With a flick of his wrist, a single arc of golden fire slashed through the air—

And the pawn's head separated from his shoulders.

Silence.

Naruto let out a slow breath, rolling his shoulders. Three more lives snuffed out. They had made their choice, and they had paid the price.

Now…

Only two remained in his immediate vicinity.

His eyes lifted toward the last standing knight—the woman who had, so far, refused to give in to her comrades' bloodlust. The one whose emotions had never flared with hatred or rage. Only fear.

And yet, despite that fear, she still stood.

Her silver blade trembled in her grasp, her entire body shaking.

Though she was terrified—utterly petrified—she had placed herself between him and the fallen male knight behind her.

How… interesting.

Naruto didn't stop. Didn't slow. His gaze flicked past her—

Then he moved.

A blur.

A golden flash.

And then—

A wet, sickening sound.

She couldn't even bring herself to turn, her heart hammering in her chest as the ferocious storm of fear in her grew to more devastating proportions, her blade falling to the ground, clattering while she gasped and heaved.

The male knight—her comrade—stood still for a moment, blinking in shock. His mouth parted as if to speak—

But only blood came out.

Naruto pulled his arm back, his fist dripping crimson as the knight collapsed to his knees, a gaping hole in his chest where his heart had once been.

Then—

He fell, lifeless.

Naruto looked on with apathy…

He had given them a chance, a chance to leave with their lives in tact. But it was them who decided to waste that chance, who had put him in this position that he did not like to be in.

Killing was never something he'd ever bring himself to enjoy.

And yet… unfortunately, he had already stained his hands with the blood of almost everyone in this rating game.

Eight pawns, two rooks, two bishops, a knight, all dead.

Leaving behind only the King, Queen, and the lone female knight right here who caught his attention.

Naruto stood behind the trembling knight, his gaze fixed in the opposite direction of where she stood.

The battlefield was eerily silent, the tension thick enough to suffocate. The only sound was her ragged breathing, sharp gasps filling the air like a frightened rabbit caught in a predator's gaze.

"Your name," Naruto's voice broke the silence, firm yet calm.

The girl flinched violently, her entire body seizing up at the sound of his voice. Her breath hitched in her throat, and she struggled to find her voice, lips quivering as if forming words was an impossible task. She swallowed hard, her throat bobbing with effort.

"Y-Y-Yukino…" she managed to whisper, her voice so faint it barely reached his ears. Her body trembled even harder, her fingers twitching as she clenched them into fists at her sides. "Y-Yukino A-Agria…"

(Yup, we brought Yukino from Fairy Tail here lads!)

Naruto didn't respond immediately. Instead, he turned on his heel, walking in a slow, deliberate half circle around her. His footsteps echoed against the silent battlefield, each one causing Yukino to tense further, her shoulders hunching as though expecting a blow. Her wide, petrified eyes widening even as she looked slightly down.

When he finally came into view, he stopped just a few feet in front of her, his piercing blue eyes scanning her over. Yukino felt her heart slam against her ribcage like a drumbeat of pure terror. She wanted to move, wanted to run, but her legs felt too weak to even run, too weak to even stand straight as they wobbled mercilessly.

Naruto took in her appearance—

Her short, neck-length pale blue hair framed her delicate face, strands falling over wide, panicked eyes the color of soft brown. Her skin was porcelain-smooth, flushed pink from her overwhelming fear.

Lips that were plump and doused an enticing pink, a cute button nose, a heart-shaped face…

She was a beauty.

The pristine white dress clung to her form, the fabric snug at her waist before flowing outward slightly, and was accented by a matching white cloak draped over her shoulders. White silky gloves covered her arms up to her biceps, her fingers trembling violently as she clutched at the edges of her cloak, as though it could somehow shield her from him.

She was beautiful—ethereal, even. And yet, she was drowning in terror.

Naruto's gaze softened slightly, but the intensity in his eyes remained. He took a single step closer.

Yukino's breath hitched, and her knees finally gave out.

With a sharp gasp, she collapsed onto them, her hands gripping the fabric of her dress in a desperate attempt to stop them from shaking. She couldn't look up. She couldn't move. She was frozen in place, her entire body trembling uncontrollably.

Naruto sighed, kneeling down to her level. He made sure to move slowly, not wanting to startle her further, but she flinched anyway, shrinking into herself. He frowned.

He exhaled softly. "Relax," Naruto said, his voice losing its edge, becoming almost soothing. "I'm not going to kill you.

For the first time since the battle began, she dared to breathe.

After a long silence, Naruto finally spoke again. "Tell me something, Yukino." His voice was lower now, softer. "Do you feel any love or attachment toward Furcas?"

Yukino immediately, violently, shook her head, her hair whipping around her face. "N-No! N-Never! I-I d-don't—! I d-don't w-want—!" Her words jumbled together in a frantic mess, her entire body tensing as though just saying it would get her punished. "P-Please… I-I don't—!"

Naruto raised a hand, stopping her panic before it spiraled further. "Okay," he said firmly, but not harshly. "I understand, calm down, breath."

She bit her lip, her chest heaving as she tried to suppress her sobs, doing as he instructed despite her fear.

Each shuddering breath, painfully slow, easing her nerves.

Only after she was sufficiently calm did Naruto speak again. "Why did you join him?"

Yukino flinched at the question. Her lips trembled, as if struggling to answer, but eventually, she forced the words out.

"I-I…" she swallowed thickly, her entire body tense. "I-I w-was b-born… as a l-l-low-class devil… b-born from… f-from… a h-high-class c-clan leader… and… a m-maid…" Her voice wavered, her stuttering worsening as she spoke. "T-T-They… g-gave me a-away… t-to L-Lord Furcas… a-as a g-gift… t-two m-months ago…"

Her voice broke completely at the last part. She hunched over, curling in on herself, her breaths coming out in rapid, uneven gasps.

Naruto's stomach twisted in disgust. Not at her, but at the sheer injustice of it. At the idea that someone could be given away as if they were an object, as if their will meant nothing.

"So you never had a choice," he murmured, his tone unreadable.

Yukino didn't respond, only lowering her head. Her shoulders trembled beneath his hand, her entire body seeming so small, so fragile.

"Did they do anything to you?"

"N-N-No s-sir." She quickly shook her head. "I-I on-only w-worked as a m-m-maid during m-my stay t-t-there.

Hmm… No sudden increase in nervousness or panic, so she was telling the truth, huh?

That was surprising.

But he was happy to hear that she wasn't taken advantage of.

Naruto's sharp blue eyes studied Yukino carefully, a flicker of something unreadable flashing within them. There was a weight in the air, thick with tension, as she trembled before him, her delicate frame barely holding together under the sheer pressure of his presence.

Yet, despite the fear that made her knees weak and her breath come in shallow gasps, she had still stood against him to defend her fellow knight.

He was curious.

"You don't love or care for them." Naruto's voice, steady and calm, broke through the silence like a blade through silk.

Yukino's breath hitched. Her wide, disbelieving eyes snapped to his face as though he had spoken something impossible. "W-Wh-what...?!" she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, her entire body trembling.

Naruto's gaze didn't waver. "Your teammates. You don't love them. There's no affection in your heart for them, not even a shred."

Yukino felt her throat tighten, her body locking up as a shudder wracked through her.

How… How could he possibly know that? She had never spoken those words aloud, never once given any indication that she lacked the deep camaraderie others seemed to have for their comrades. She had followed orders, obeyed without question, done everything expected of her, and yet… she had never felt warmth toward them. Only duty.

"H-How—" her voice cracked as her lips trembled, fear tightening its grip around her chest. "H-how d-do you—"

"I can just tell." Naruto's tone remained casual. "And yet… you still tried to defend him, that other knight whom you felt no affection for. Even though you were terrified of me."

Yukino swallowed thickly, her throat burning as she struggled to force the words out. "I-I... I c-can't just… w-watch a-and d-do n-nothing…" Her hands clenched into trembling fists. "E-even if I d-d-don't f-feel… anything f-for them… I… I j-just… I c-can't..."

Naruto was silent for a moment, his gaze never leaving hers. Then, something changed. His lips curved into a slow, almost fascinated smile, as if he had just discovered something incredible.

"That's amazing." His voice was warm, almost reverent, and Yukino flinched as if struck. "Even though you don't care for them… you still couldn't stand by and let them suffer. That takes courage."

Yukino's breath hitched at his words, her hands clutching at the fabric of her uniform as she tried to suppress the overwhelming emotions rising in her chest. No one had ever… said something like that about her before. She had been called weak, replaceable, obedient—but never courageous.

She flinched when Naruto suddenly moved. His hand, firm yet gentle, reached forward, and before she could recoil, his fingers tilted her chin up, forcing her to meet his gaze fully.

Yukino's heart nearly stopped.

His touch was light, barely there, yet it sent an unfamiliar warmth crawling through her. His fingers against her skin were a stark contrast to the suffocating presence that had nearly crushed her only moments ago. But it was his eyes that truly rendered her breathless—piercing, filled with something she couldn't quite name.

"Yukino." His voice was softer now, but no less firm. "After this rating game is over, after I'm done killing Lord Furcas… I want you to join my peerage."

Yukino's entire body locked up. Her breath stopped, her heart pounded so violently in her chest she thought it might break through her ribcage.

"W-Wh—" The word barely made it past her lips, her voice cracking pitifully.

Naruto's smile didn't falter. "As my first piece."

Yukino's vision swam. The weight of his words was suffocating, overwhelming, crashing into her like a tidal wave. He—he wanted her? He was offering her a place in his peerage? Her? The girl who was nothing but a pawn to her master? The girl who held no love for those around her? The girl who had only ever known obedience and duty?

"I- I—" her voice was barely above a whisper, shaking so violently she could barely form words. "W-why…?"

Naruto tilted his head slightly, as if considering her question. "Because I'm impressed by you."

Her breath caught.

"Even though you were afraid, even though you had no love for them, you still acted. Not out of obligation, not because of orders, but because you just couldn't stand by and do nothing. That's rare. That's valuable. And I respect that."

Yukino's vision blurred as her hands trembled against her lap. It… It didn't make sense. No one had ever—no one had ever said something like that to her. No one had ever looked at her like this.

She was nothing. She was weak. She was disposable. That's what she had always been told. That's what she had always believed.

And yet, here he was… saying he respected her.

"Of course," Naruto added, his voice gentle, "If you don't want to, I'll understand. I won't hold it against you. And no matter what you choose, whether it's joining my peerage or not, I'll personally make sure you live a comfortable life. This I promise you."

The kindness in his voice nearly broke her.

Yukino's throat tightened painfully. She wanted to speak, to say something, anything, but the words wouldn't come. Her chest felt so tight, her emotions a chaotic storm she couldn't control. Her entire body shook as she struggled to breathe past the overwhelming rush of feelings she didn't know how to process.

"C-Can I…" her voice cracked as she forced the words out, her lips trembling violently. "C-Can I… th-think about it…?"

Naruto's expression softened further, and he nodded. "Of course. Take all the time you need."

Yukino felt like she might collapse from the sheer weight of everything happening.

Naruto's hand slowly released her chin, and she barely had time to process the loss of warmth before she felt something else—something impossibly gentle.

His palm, warm and firm, softly patted the top of her head.

Yukino's breath hitched. The simple gesture, so light and kind, sent a strange warmth spreading through her chest, a warmth she couldn't remember ever feeling before.

And before she could even comprehend it, before she could react or speak or move—

Naruto stood up, turning away.

She watched, frozen, as he began walking toward the battlefield where the last of his clones were facing the King and Queen. His movements were fluid, confident, powerful, as if the previous conversation had never happened.

But Yukino…

Yukino sat there, trembling, her hand slowly rising to touch the top of her head where his warmth still lingered.

A small tint of pink doused her cheeks.

End.

I hope you all liked the chapter.

The chapter after this is where the climax of this rating game finally happens.

Now I tried to make this chapter exciting, and I like to think that I did make the battle pretty intense, even if one-sided, but we also wanted to finally have Naruto acquire his first piece.

Anyway, I don't want to spoil anything more, so I'll let you all go.

Take care lads.

Peace.
