Chapter 6 - Gathering of the Great

"What's with this situation?" Elias heard the confused Klein utter.

But he ignored his fellow protagonist for now, as he was more interested in examining this seemingly boundless space.

He looked around him and then lowered his head down. The fog was flowing like water and was dotted with a lot of crimson 'stars.' Some of them were enormous while others were tiny.

Many of them were hidden in the deep, concealed by layers of thick fog, while others floated over the surface like flowers in a lake.

Guided by his curiosity, Elias extended his senses to examine the crimson stars. He refrained from using physical touch to avoid adding a random character to the tarot club this early in the story.

When his senses reached the stars, his vision registered many scenes, many of the stars were husk shells with no stable connections to count, while the brighter ones were mostly connected to various objects scattered around the world.

After a not so thorough examination, he turned his head to look at Klein as he reached out his right hand in a half-confused, half-exploring manner to try to touch the crimson 'star' that was seemingly floating on the surface. He was trying to find a way to leave this place.

When his hand touched the surface of that star, a water mark suddenly appeared from within his body and agitated the stars into a "crimson" burst. It looked like a dreamlike burning of flames.

Elias took notice of this phenomena, and it reignited his intrigue in the grey fog "this place is full of foreshadowing, every ability in the trio pathways are integrated into this fog"

His senses traveled farther, deep below Sefirah Castle, into the Spirit World, while this world remained boundless in its own right, he still noticed how it was structured and built upon a source.

And that source was Sefirah Castle.

His attention snapped back to Klein, who in has clumsiness had already summoned two people, and his almost non existent spirituality had taken a serious hit in the process.

In the fog of gray mist, Audrey Hall regained her sight. She started reckoning the situation in a state of horror and confusion when she noticed the blurry image of a man on the opposite side of her doing the same as well.

Immediately after, the both of them discovered another person standing not far from them who was shrouded in a grey mist.

The 'mysterious person' was Klein of course who was equally dumbfounded.

"Sir, where is this?"

Audrey and Alger were startled at first, falling silent in the process. Then, they immediately started speaking in unison.

"What are you planning on doing?"

Elias considered examining the place some more, but he opted to stop here this time, as the first Tarot Club gathering has officially started.

He sat on the 'ground' filled with the mysterious grey fog cross-legged, and just watched the story unfold.

The organization that was or would be one of the biggest powerhouses in the world, and the one that reignited the hope in the heart of the apocalypse, just took its first step in the world of beyonders.

The gathering went as in the original, Alger cementing himself as veteran beyonder with much experience, Audrey took this one in a lifetime experience to ask all the questions she wanted, her eyes bright with the excitement of a little kid entering the world of her dreams for the first time.

As for Klein, he sat at the seat of honor with a mysterious presence, he was really immersed in the rule, acting as if he didn't really care what they were saying and was just humoring them, like a grandpa listening to kids.

But his ears might as well stretch over the bronze table, as he listened to every word attentively.

After the initial exchange and the formal formation of the Tarot club, Elias could visibly see the spirituality drain from Klein to maintain the projection of the two stars, and then Klein felt it as well.

At that moment, Klein's headache intensified. He felt that his invisible connection with the crimson stars and greyish-white fog was beginning to falter.

"Alright, that will be all for today's gathering," despite the throbbing pain he still took the time to keep the mysterious vibe, and said in a deep voice.

"By your will." Alger bowed his head respectfully.

"By your will." Audrey followed suit, mimicking The Hanged Man.

As Klein severed the connection, he said with a smile, "Let us look forward to the next gathering."

The 'stars' brightened once more as the crimson light receded like water. Just as Audrey and Alger heard Mr. Fool's words, their figures turned into a blur as they phased away.

In a second, the 'projection' shattered as the grey fog restored its silence.

As for Klein, he felt himself turning heavy rapidly. His surroundings turned fleeting as his eyes met darkness, for some reason he was almost certain that he was returning to his room.

But he suddenly felt a wave brush against his body, he opened his eyes to find that he was still in the mysterious space above the grey fog.

Even though he had already examined this place upon arriving, he couldn't help but turn his head, looking for any changes.

The magnificent palace hall with a vast dome supported by the giant stone pillars was gone, and same thing applied to his condition, the pain he felt receded as if the pressure was lifted from his spirit.

But just as he was about to look for another way to leave, his eyes landed on a mysterious figure in the middle of the fog, his form was wrapped in layers upon layers of grey fog, even more so than Justice and Hanged man.

But for some reason, even through all these layers of concealment, Klein could still see a smile on his face.

The terrefying part was that Klein had a feeling that this mysterious figure had been there the entire time, and had seen the exchange between the three, and bore witness to Klein's impressive performance as a great exsistance.

And at the moment he was about to ask, he heard the man speak in a light tone "Hello mr. Fool".
