Ritik, Gunjan, Kurana Alexanderia, and Shogun Kurogami walked slowly through the overgrown path leading to the old building. The abandoned primary school stood like a forgotten memory, its walls cracked and covered in thick vines, the campus swallowed by bushes that had grown wild for years.
Kurogami glanced around, his usual stoic expression cracking with surprise. "So this is the place where you've hidden the Aether Beasts all this time. Your own old primary school, Ritik Aether."
Ritik gave a small, bittersweet smile, his voice soft with nostalgia. "That's a place I can't forget even if I die. Some memories just stick with you, no matter how much the world changes."
They pushed deeper into the school grounds, pushing aside branches and stepping over cracked pavement. As they entered the inner courtyard, something unusual caught their eyes on the trees—large, visible cocoons hanging from the sturdy branches. They were massive, at least ten feet or more in length, varying in size that clearly showed different stages of growth and age.
Kurana stopped dead, eyes widening. "What the hell is that all?"
Kurogami stared, equally shocked. "Yeah… what are we looking at here?"
Ritik stepped closer, a hint of pride in his voice. "So this is an Aether Titan I've heard of. How's this thing supposed to fight?" Kurogami asked, still staring at the hanging cocoons with a mix of awe and disbelief.
One of the larger cocoons suddenly split open with a wet tearing sound. A giant Aether Titan dropped down heavily onto the ground. Its size was enormous, easily dwarfing all of them, but the creature seemed incredibly lazy. It looked like a massive caterpillar with no visible limbs, its body soft and barely able to move properly. A baby Aether Titan.
When it caught Ritik's scent, the beast perked up immediately. It wriggled closer and started licking him affectionately, just like an oversized, slobbery pet. More cocoons began opening around them, revealing several other baby Aether Titans in various sizes. Ritik laughed softly, a rare genuine warmth breaking through his exhaustion as he petted them all, running his hands over their soft, scaled bodies.
"These are just the babies," Ritik explained as he moved toward the old playground area, the group following. "The real adult Aether Titans live underground."
Gunjan stepped forward beside him, her voice steady but carrying quiet pride and a touch of sadness. "The Aether Titans have the ability of Density Manipulation. They can alter their molecular density at will become completely intangible to phase through solid objects, or increase their density to become as hard as diamond, making them incredibly durable and nearly unstoppable in battle. They also possess supersonic speed for flying through the air and can crawl on the ground at sonic speeds when needed. Their bodies are snake-like, covered in nearly indestructible hard scales that can withstand almost anything. Once an Aether Titan becomes a full adult, it's nearly immortal and doesn't die from natural age factors."
Kurana stared at the creatures in open awe, shaking his head slowly. "That Orion Aether really created something like gods. I can't believe it."
Ritik moved to the center of the old playground. He placed both hands firmly on the cracked ground, closing his eyes. In his mind, he reached out through a deep, ancient telepathic bond that only he shared with them. *My friends… it's time. The world above needs you. The monsters are here. Rise with me. Fight for what we built together. For Akshat. For all of us.*
For long, tense moments, nothing happened. The group waited in heavy silence, the only sound the distant roar of monsters somewhere in the city. Then the ground began to shake violently. Cracks spiderwebbed across the entire playground.
One by one, adult Aether Titans emerged using their Density Manipulation, phasing through the earth like ghosts before solidifying into massive, powerful forms. Their snake-like bodies gleamed under the purple-streaked sky, scales shimmering with raw, ancient power. They were ready coiled, alert, prepared to fight the monsters of the outer world alongside Ritik.
The biggest of them all the King of the Aether Titans, 'Rithion' approached Ritik slowly. The two touched foreheads in a deep, wordless gesture of friendship and respect. Ritik's voice was thick with emotion as he spoke. "Rithion is approximately the same age as Akshat. When Rithion was just a tiny baby snake small enough to hold in the palm of a human hand, Akshat and he used to play together every single day. They were inseparable."
Gunjan watched the scene with tears glistening in her eyes, a mix of grief and hope swelling in her chest. Ritik stepped back, looking at the gathered Titans with renewed determination. "With the support of the Aether Titans, I will save the world."
