Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Girl, I'm Here to Help!

"Pet pigs shouldn't be that aggressive, right?" Mo Chen shook his head, denying the guess.

This pig in pajamas was probably one of the three wild animals he had randomly teleported over when he created the secret realm. And this pig was even intelligent. That pajama set must be an extraordinary item—one of his settings—but he didn't know what was so extraordinary about it.

A pig that had gained sentience, wearing an extraordinary set of pajamas… tsk tsk tsk, how interesting.

This random surprise certainly didn't disappoint Mo Chen; it was exciting.

"The question is, how could there be pigs in Xiangshan?" Liu Yueyue asked in confusion. "This place has been developed for almost a hundred years. Wild animals disappeared long ago. How could there be animals here?"

"Yes, Mo Chen, what do we do now?" Zhou Qian had no idea what to do, so she could only look to Mo Chen.

"Qianqian, your Great Dao Simplicity should be able to handle it, right?" Mo Chen said. "That pig just charges around. I think your laws should be able to deal with it."

Is it a pig? Even though it's wearing pajamas, it's still a pig.

"If it's just going to crash into things, I'm perfectly fine with that," Zhou Qian said after thinking for a moment.

"Okay, we'll head over soon. I'll protect Yueyue, so be careful on your own," Mo Chen reminded her.

"Huh? You're just abandoning me?"

Because I have my own rules, I don't care anymore. You're single by choice!

"What are you saying? I just said that if something happens, I'll protect Yueyue first. After all, she's an ordinary person. How does that mean I'm abandoning you?" Mo Chen was speechless. Was she jealous at a time like this?

"Haha, Qianqian, it seems awakening first isn't necessarily a good thing!" Liu Yueyue joked.

"What?!" Zhou Qian's face was full of grievance.

Mo Chen carefully led the two women forward. Surprisingly, he wasn't afraid of the unknown danger. On the contrary, he felt excited.

Although he could have protected them by transforming into a sea of flowers, he didn't. The two needed to grow; he couldn't always be their protector. A controlled level of adventure was necessary.

Besides, he had a domain with a range of two meters. That should be enough.

The three arrived at the place where the scream had come from earlier, but neither the pig nor the Awakened One who had been hit was anywhere to be seen. At this point, hardly anyone remained in the area—they had clearly run far away.

That's good. Fewer people means less trouble.

Just as the three were about to continue up the mountain, they suddenly heard the sounds of fighting nearby. However, upon closer listening, it sounded less like fighting and more like the soft moans of a woman.

Ahem… don't misunderstand. It wasn't what you think. It was the sound of someone fighting a pig.

"Over there. Let's go."

Mo Chen pulled the two women along while scanning the surroundings warily.

As they drew closer and the view became clearer, Mo Chen finally understood what was happening.

A girl dressed in camouflage was fighting a pig wearing pajamas with a long dagger. However, it was less of a battle and more of a one-sided beating.

The one being beaten was none other than Gao Yue, the retired soldier from before—though Mo Chen did not recognize her.

That wild boar wasn't just charging recklessly. It was wrestling with Gao Yue—yes, wrestling.

It used its head to push, its hooves to kick, and its body to roll. In short, it maximized every physical advantage and gained the upper hand.

Gao Yue looked disheveled, covered in dust. Her hair was messy, and her clothes were torn in several places, stained with blood—clearly injured.

The strangest part was that every time she stabbed the pig with her dagger, the blade seemed to hit an invisible barrier. The pig remained completely unharmed.

Mo Chen watched in amazement. This was probably the magic of those pajamas.

Could it be that these pajamas, which appeared to be ordinary clothes, actually possessed the properties of invincible armor?

Mo Chen didn't rush to help. Instead, he observed.

"Mo Chen, have you noticed something strange about the pig's feet?" Zhou Qian whispered.

They were more than ten meters away—barely close enough to see clearly—but Zhou Qian's observation skills were sharp.

"What's strange?" Mo Chen frowned. How did I miss that?

"Look closely at the pig's feet," Zhou Qian pointed. "Every time she stabs, the ground beneath the pig collapses. At first, I thought the pig was trampling it, but after watching carefully, I realized that's not it. The pig isn't that heavy, and it doesn't have that much power. Something's wrong."

"Qianqian's observation skills are still as sharp as ever," Liu Yueyue said, stepping forward to hug her.

"That's right!" Zhou Qian lifted her chin proudly.

"Hiss… you're right." Mo Chen stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Could it be that those pajamas transfer the attack power into the ground?"

If that was the case, then the protective barrier was actually a transfer barrier.

"Qianqian, protect Yueyue. I'm going to deal with this pig."

Then he shouted, "Sis, I'm here to help you!"

Before Zhou Qian could react, Mo Chen had already rushed forward.

"What? Just because she's pretty, you rush to help? Pah!" Zhou Qian spat resentfully.

"Are you jealous?" Liu Yueyue teased.

"No way!" Zhou Qian denied it firmly.

"You're still as shy as when you were a kid. You'll never find a partner if you keep acting like this," Liu Yueyue shook her head.

Mo Chen wasn't an ordinary person. He couldn't be treated like one. If she wanted him, she had to take the initiative.

"And what about you?" Zhou Qian suddenly narrowed her eyes.

"What about me?" Liu Yueyue felt uneasy and avoided her gaze.

"Do you think I'm stupid? You two have been acting strange. You've been absent-minded these past few days. And why were you two together this morning? Don't tell me I just happened to bump into you."

"Qianqian, I was wrong!" Liu Yueyue surrendered immediately.

"I knew it!" Zhou Qian sighed helplessly. She had even tried to match them up before—what a terrible mistake.

Meanwhile, Mo Chen had no idea that Liu Yueyue had already confessed.

He was currently being chased by the pig, just like Gao Yue earlier.

Sometimes he transformed into a shower of flying flowers to escape. Sometimes he used the Anchor of All Things to kick stones at it.

But no matter what law he used, nothing worked.

The piglet remained completely unfazed. Mo Chen even saw mockery in its eyes.

"That's too arrogant!"

Mo Chen quickly created a pit in the ground using the sea of flowers, waiting for the pig to fall in. But the pig wasn't stupid—it immediately changed direction.

"Hey! Flower boy! You seemed so tough earlier—how come you can't handle one pig?" Gao Yue shouted while running.

"What's your surname, beautiful lady?" Mo Chen kicked another rock.

"Gao Yue." Her face was stern, offering no friendliness.

"May I ask how I offended you? I came to help, and you're still scolding me?"

"If you weren't pretty, I would've kicked you away already," he muttered internally.

"Offend me? No." Gao Yue dodged another charge with graceful movement.

"Then I don't understand."

"You offended all the Awakened Ones. I'm just one of them."

With that, Gao Yue led the pig toward Mo Chen.

"Just kidding! Why take it so seriously?" Mo Chen chuckled. He hadn't expected his joke in the square to cause so much resentment.

"Hehe. Have fun. I'm leaving."

After drawing the pig to Mo Chen, Gao Yue flipped over him and disappeared into the thick fog in the blink of an eye.

If you can't win, retreat immediately—that was Gao Yue's experience as a former special forces soldier.
