The sound of bones crunching started to echo throughout the air, this came from the soulless one as it started to twitch. Its eyes set to Victoria and Luicien, as it still laid on the floor, moving its skinny arm to crush them.
We've been hitting it with a lot of magical energy, how is it still not dead?
The thought crossed Victoria's mind as her and Luicien backed off, away from it.
The thing struggled to stand and in a blinded state went for Noah who was still resting. Lillican summoned some magical energy a deep green colour, the magical energy, shifted to form a rifle along with a short almost dagger like sword.
Victoria watched as he did this.
It's been a while, but I forgot he's a mage that he uses weapons, since the magic in him is naturally weaker.
He pulled the gun up, looking down the end of it. It was this moment that time itself seemed to be going slow for him, making the soulless one an easier target to hit.
ELEMENTAL MAGIC: BURSTING BULLET OF FIRE.
At that moment he shot off a large bullet made from magic, covered in flames. When it got close to the soulless one, it bursted into different fragments and upon impact the soulless one set ablaze.
Its screams could be heard throughout the whole temple at this point.
Lillican went to hit it again with his sword, but it was already flapping its arms about in all sorts of directions, hitting him as he got close.
That's when it started to charge to Noah again, running for an exit.
But a flash appeared in front of him and soon Diana had made her entrance once again.
"The rest of your team has already help evacuate mine, when you gave that order as you entered this place. You did that explosive spell so that they could slip past, that was clever even I'll have to admit that."
Diana raised her staff and unleashed a basic magic attack to defend Noah. Once she had made the monster stray away from him, she turned back to look at him with a stern look and not saying anything.
Luicien and Victoria began running toward it.
"Just like before".
Luicien said to Victoria.
Victoria gave him a nod as she continued to run.
Luicien poured a lot of magical energy into his sword, slicing through the soulless one. He bounced back and Victoria took his place using all her strength to blast off a high-end magical attack. They continued this pattern until the soulless one grew weak.
They both prepared their sword and staff.
Now is the time.
Thought Victoria.
Its time for the finale strike.
Luicien thought, as they both moved forward.
Victoria pushed her staff forward.
DESCRUCTION MAGIC: DARK VOID, SHATTERED REALM.
Luicien pushed his sword back.
ILLUSION MAGIC: ONE HUNDRAD CUTS FROM A PHAMTOM BLADE.
Victoria launched a ball of dark energy that came crashing down into the soulless one and exploded on impact. While Luicien sliced into it what seemed like one hundred times, with just as much magical energy.
The soulless one seemed to literally explode on impact leaving nothing but dust behind.
The pair were left trying to catch their breaths, Victoria started to cough but tried to hide it.
Victoria then ran over and wrapped her arms around Luicien for a tight hug, he did the same before Victoria stepped back.
"That was amazing".
She said in an excited tone.
Luicien shared the same enthusiasm with her.
"I know! It's been a while since ive had a challenge like that on a mission".
Mika walked over to them, letting Lavender use him to walk as she was now awake.
"Good job guys" Lavender said in a tired voice.
Mika Looked at all of them.
It's been a while since we've been like this.
He thought back to the first time they joined the magic corporation, because they were new a lot of their first missions they did, were in groups. Due to them knowing each other, all of them were all put together on missions then Lavender came along and their group was complete.
Mika remembers how happy they all were back then.
"How about some drinks then like we usually do once we get off from a mission, Victoria you in?".
Luicien said.
Despite a good reunion, Victorias face had an expression of dread.
"I would but, I was going to go visit my parents for a bit after we were done here".
Luicien put on a look convincing type of look.
"Why don't I come with you? Plus, I have a motorbike so we'll get there faster, after we can join back up with the others".
Victoria used the next several seconds to come up with an answer.
"That would be great actually, thank you. Before we can go I need to submit a digital report, it'll only take me a moment".
Victoria pulled up her digital screen and started to type fast, she then pressed the upload button and closed the screen.
They all made their ways out of the temple and regrouped with everyone else who was on the mission, with Victoria and Diana before them.
"Today's mission was a success".
Started Diana.
"If you're injured and haven't already been healed by one of our healers, then please do now, if not you're dismissed for the day".
Victoria announced, then walking over to Luicien. They made their way through the forest.
Walking through it was slightly awkward due to all the plants that had to keep pushing to the side. But Luicien and Victoria had a lot of catching up to do.
"So how has it been as a squad leader?".
Victoria laughed nervously.
"Tiring, very tiring. How have things been for you though?".
He exhaled some air.
"Also, very tiring".
The two shared a laugh as they got to where Luicien had parked his bike, which was aside many other vehicles from all the members who had came.
