They stepped back out onto the shopping street together.
Azael had stored all four outfits into his storage ring without ceremony. They were already forgotten as far as he was concerned. He was thinking about something else now.
'She bought me something,' he thought, walking beside Arista as she paused to glance at a window display. 'I should get her something in return.'
He had tried suggesting it once already.
"Buy something for yourself while we're here," he had said.
She had shaken her head without even considering it. "I have plenty at home. More than I need."
And that had been the end of that.
He thought about it as they moved from shop to shop along the street. The problem was obvious. She was a Duchess's daughter. She had money, access, and people who would bring her whatever she asked for. There was nothing practical she lacked. Nothing she needed that she didn't already have.
So it couldn't be practical. It had to be something else.
