Chapter 48 Come to a Party

Krishna sat calmly at the table, his daughter beside him, quietly eating.

Across from him, Vijay leaned back in his chair with a smirk, tapping a set of papers on the table.

"Krishna," Vijay began casually, "let's stop wasting time."

He pushed the papers forward.

"We've decided. You're going to divorce my sister."

Krishna didn't react. He simply looked at him.

Vijay continued, his tone growing arrogant. "She's going to marry someone… far stronger than you. Someone with a powerful background. You won't understand all that, so I'll make it simple."

He pulled out a candy and placed it on the table like he was dealing with a child.

"Sign these papers… and this is yours."

For a moment—silence.

Krishna stared at the candy.

Then… he spoke.

Not in the broken, childish tone everyone expected.

But in a calm, steady, adult voice.

"For a chocolate… why would I give away my precious wife?"

The room froze.

Vijay's smirk disappeared.

His eyes narrowed as confusion and unease crept in.

Krishna slowly lifted his gaze and looked directly at him.

That gaze…

It wasn't new.

It was familiar.

Too familiar.

Inside Vijay's mind, something shook.

Krishna leaned back slightly, his expression relaxed but his eyes sharp.

"You people really think she has no value, don't you?" he said calmly.

He didn't wait for an answer.

"You raised your son like a king… and treated your daughter like a burden."

His voice remained soft.

But every word landed like a slap.

"You only came back into her life when money was involved."

Vijay clenched his fist.

Krishna continued, as if talking about something completely ordinary.

"And when I went into a coma… you all took advantage of it."

A faint smile appeared.

"Nice timing."

Vijay slammed his hand on the table. "Watch your mouth!"

Krishna didn't even blink.

Instead, he tilted his head slightly.

"You know…" he said slowly, "one of my friends is enough to make you run like a dog."

That was it.

Vijay snapped.

"How dare you!" he shouted, standing up and raising his hand.

But before he could bring it down—

Krishna looked at him.

Just one look.

That same old gaze.

Cold.

Dominant.

Violent.

Vijay's body froze.

His legs trembled uncontrollably.

Not out of fear…

Out of memory.

Flashbacks hit him instantly.

Bones breaking.

Screams.

Pain.

That same man… before the coma…

Beating him without mercy.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Krishna didn't move.

He just watched.

Vijay swallowed hard.

"No… this is impossible," he thought. "He's not awakened… I am…"

He tried to calm himself.

Tried to convince himself.

But his body didn't listen.

His instincts remembered.

Just as he gathered the courage to strike again—

His phone rang.

The sharp sound cut through the tension.

Vijay clicked his tongue in irritation and looked at the screen.

The moment he saw the name…

His entire expression changed.

The anger vanished instantly.

He picked up the phone without hesitation and hurried out of the room.

Krishna's eyes followed him.

For a split second, he saw the name on the screen.

"Tony."

Krishna leaned back slightly, his fingers tapping the armrest of the wheelchair.

"Tony…" he murmured to himself.

A faint smile appeared.

"Let's see who you are."

He glanced around the house once.

Silent.

Cold.

Fake.

Then he looked at his daughter, who was still eating innocently.

His eyes softened.

But only for her.

"This house…" Krishna thought.

"…is full of drama."

He smiled lightly.

"Not small… not big…"

"A lot."

"And this time…"

His eyes darkened slightly.

"I'll play along."
