Chapter 47 Calm Before the Storm

Nameless sat silently, his daughter playing beside him, her laughter echoing softly in the room.

He looked at her… and then closed his eyes.

"From now on… I am not Nameless," he told himself. "I am Krishna."

The name settled inside him like a mask he willingly chose to wear.

Krishna smiled gently and played with his daughter for some time, letting her drag his hands, letting her talk endlessly about small things that made no sense… yet somehow, everything felt peaceful.

After a while, he waved his hand lightly. "Go play carefully, okay?" he said softly.

She nodded happily and ran off.

The moment she left, Krishna's expression changed.

Inside his mind, a clear image formed.

Four faces appeared before him.

His daughter.

His wife.

His mother-in-law.

His father-in-law.

He didn't even bother forming the face of his brother-in-law.

"Useless," Krishna muttered in his mind. "Not worth thinking about."

Then he started assigning value.

"Daughter… 10 out of 10."

A small smile appeared on his face.

"Wife… 100 out of 10."

His eyes softened for a moment.

Then… darkness.

"Mother-in-law… negative 1000."

"Father-in-law… negative 1000."

His gaze turned cold.

"If I give something 1000… then death is the only option," Krishna thought calmly.

His tone wasn't emotional.

It was simply… a decision.

"I can forgive people who fight me," he continued thinking. "But those who try to control me… blackmail me… threaten my family…"

A faint smile appeared.

"No."

"I never let them go."

The thought ended there.

Just like that.

As if deciding someone's death was no different than choosing what to eat.

A few moments later, Krishna felt thirsty.

"Water," he called casually.

Silence.

No one came.

He waited.

Still nothing.

Time passed slowly.

After a while, his daughter returned, running toward him with a bright smile.

Krishna looked at her. "Aren't you going to school?" he asked.

She shook her head. "Uncle said school is bad. He told I will study at home. A teacher comes."

Krishna paused for a second.

He didn't react much.

"Hmm… okay," he said lightly.

But that small detail… quietly settled somewhere deep in his mind.

A seed.

One that would grow later.

"Bring me some water," Krishna said gently.

She nodded and ran.

When she returned, she handed him the glass with both hands, smiling proudly.

Krishna drank slowly, then asked, "Why is no servant coming when I call?"

She answered innocently, "Grandma and Grandpa told them not to help you."

Krishna froze for a fraction of a second.

Then he smiled again.

"I see."

He said nothing more.

He simply played with her again, as if nothing mattered.

Time passed.

Lunch time came… and went.

No one called them.

No one came.

The house felt strangely silent.

After a long time, his daughter tugged his sleeve.

"Daddy… I'm hungry."

Krishna blinked.

Only then did he realize how much time had passed.

"Let's go eat," she said softly.

He nodded.

She pushed the wheelchair slowly, struggling but determined.

When they reached the dining hall, they saw him.

His brother-in-law was already sitting there, eating comfortably.

He glanced at them and frowned.

"Why did these disgusting creatures come here?" he muttered under his breath.

Krishna heard it clearly.

But his face remained blank.

The brother-in-law paused, thinking.

"No audience… insulting him now is boring," he thought.

Then suddenly, he smiled.

"Ah, come, come," he said loudly. "Sit here."

Krishna raised an eyebrow internally.

That sudden change… was unnatural.

They sat beside him.

He signaled the maids.

"Serve them."

Food was brought immediately.

Respectfully.

Properly.

Too properly.

Krishna looked at the plate… then at him.

A faint suspicion rose in his mind.

"Why this sudden kindness?"

His eyes narrowed slightly.

Something…

Was not right.
