Chapter 8 - progress

After Meihua and her party left, Seo continued lazing away on her rocking chair. Suddenly, a system prompt clouded her vision.

["Ding! Host, would you like to sign in?"]

She quickly sat up, clasping her hands together eagerly.

"Sign in!" she replied, staring intently at the system window.

["Ding! Host, you have obtained the following rewards:"

Divine White Tiger Bone Wine ×1

Divine Alchemical Furnace ×1

Star Fall Needles ×13

Golden Core Pill ×10

Alchemical Hall Blueprints

Polished Rice Bag ×10

She couldn't help but smirk at the rewards she had just received.

She reviewed the alchemical hall blueprints in her mind but wasn't satisfied. Without hesitation, she modified them, adding modern principles the original design lacked. The new blueprint resembled a modern laboratory blended with ancient architectural elegance.

After surveying her courtyard, she chose the most suitable location to build it. She then walked toward a cave-like area at the rear of her domain. Appraising the cave walls carefully, she noticed something unusual and decided to test her alchemy skills.

Infusing spiritual energy into the walls, she extracted a strange powder. She repeated the process with the sand at her feet. Merging the sand with the powder, a faint glow illuminated the cave.

She had created a new material—glass.

A long, thick sheet of crystal-clear glass formed before her. The powder she extracted was a compound of sodium carbonate and limestone. She repeated the process ten more times.

When she finished, she had twenty thick sheets of polished crystalline glass. Placing them into her spatial storage, she exited the cave.

Returning to the selected area in her courtyard, she summoned Choi, Ling, Su, and Bai, instructing them to chop down trees within the domain and bring the logs to her. Shortly after, they returned with piles of timber.

Seo activated her spiritual architecture skill, visualizing the modified blueprint in her mind.

The logs floated midair, morphing into various shapes and sizes before fusing and compressing together. Moments later, the alchemical hall stood complete.

She used some of the glass to craft windows and various lab apparatus. The structure resembled a modern pavilion built for a wealthy ancient family.

With leftover glass, she crafted delicate, thin-stemmed wine glasses—clear, polished, and elegant.

Choi and the others stared in awe. They had never seen anything like it. The hall's interior was sleek and pristine, filled with strange transparent objects unfamiliar to them. Even nobles did not use such exquisite tableware.

It was understandable—glass had not yet been invented in this era.

Suddenly, the familiar system voice echoed in her mind.

["Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have gained the title: Skilled Craftsman."]

Seo smirked and entered the alchemical hall.

She took out the Divine Alchemical Furnace along with several rare herbs she had gathered the previous day. The furnace was pure gold, engraved with a dragon sigil.

Placing the herbs inside, she manipulated her spiritual energy to extract their medicinal essence. She ignited the oxygen particles in the air, forming a dazzling spiritual flame that shimmered and resonated with the forming pill.

She even invoked law manifestation to enhance the pill's effects.

A bright flash of white light illuminated the room.

When the light faded, four beautiful pills hovered in the air—golden in color with a faint white sheen.

She appraised them, and the description shocked her.

[Crimson Jade Condensation Pill → Restores depleted qi, heals soul-based injuries, and increases vitality.]

She crafted a small jewelry-like box, placed the pills inside, and stored it in her inventory.

As she stepped outside, just as she was about to scold Ling for almost bumping into her, a loud scream echoed from the direction Meihua's group had gone.

Bai turned toward the sound, her eyes glowing faintly.

"Miss, it seems they're being attacked at the pond."

At the mention of the pond, Seo burst into laughter.

Had that Meihua woman ignored her warning? Or had something truly gone wrong?

As she pondered, a sudden burst exploded in the sky.

"Fireworks?" Seo exclaimed in disbelief.

She quickly sensed the spiritual energy embedded within it—it was clearly a distress signal.

Letting out a tired, conflicted sigh, she decided to help them.

Seo and the others exited the domain and headed toward the location of the signal.

When they arrived, they found Meihua and her party under attack by the very creature Seo had warned them about before they departed.
