Chapter 3 - Ep.3 A Shattered Ruby Is Still A Ruby

'I need to leave Tuonku for my own safety. Once that knight and the princess talk with the king I'll have them hunting me down like a criminal.' Myaki thought to himself.

He had not only caused a ruckus within the princesses private mansion but also held them at the edge of a blade.

That alone would be a death sentence for any commoner. So leaving the Tuonku Kingdom was the only option.

But as usual fate wasn't going to lend a hand.

"By order of the royal family the gates will remain closed! Return to your homes!" Said one of the guards.

'Already?! It's only been a few hours at most! Did they already close all the gates? This isn't good.'Myaki thought as he started pushing through the crowd.

With the gates shut and the Harbour on complete lock down the adventurers guild was thrown into chaos.

Adventurers couldn't complete their quests so they couldn't get paid. Everything was frozen in the water which had everyone on edge.

"This isn't fair! Why has the royal family closed the gates? We need to feed our families too!" Yelled an adventurer.

"Yeah! Open the gates and let us out!" Yelled another adventurer.

Soon a riot broke out at the adventurers guild but a line of royal knights blocked them from entering.

"P-Princess A-Aria, why have you issued the gates to be shut? If you are hunting someone who has offended the royal family I will mobilize the adventurers immediately!" Said the Guild Master, Toma Hawken.

Aria however remained silent as Kentola held up a drawing of Myaki to the best of her abilities.

"Issue a question to all adventurers to bring any information of this man. Should the information prove credible then they will receive 1,000 gold coins." Kentola said.

Toma however was speechless for two reasons.

First was the reward as a 1,000 gold coins was more then even most B-Rank Adventurers made in an entire year.

It was an astounding reward just for information on a single individual.

And secondly Tomas knew exactly who the drawing was of and gritted his teeth which led Aria to open an eye slightly.

"That dam piece of trash! He's the cause of all of this!" Tomas muttered.

Despite the insult to the one who saved her and her knights lives Aria stepped forward will eleganceand grace.

"Guild Master Tomas, do you know the one who is in this drawing? What is his name?" Aria asked.

Both Aria and Kentola had finally found something to help them learn of the boy's identity.

But Toma's reaction wasn't what neither Aria or Kentola had expected.

"That piece of trash dare threaten the royal family and cause this disturbance! Give the order princess and I'll have Myaki's head on a pike!" Toma Yelled as a vein bulge from his forehead in his explosive outrage.

Aria was still nobility and threatening her savior was a grave insult.

*Smack!*

"You will do no such thing to the one who saved my life guild master. For your insolence alone I should have you banished from the kingdom!"Aria yelled.

Kentola was even more furious then Aria as Myaki had not only saved the princess but killed a 7th Star Wyrm beast and saved the kingdom from severe damages.

But now they knew Myaki's name.

It wasn't much but both Aria and Kentola were getting desperate as they knew the city lock down could be lifted at any moment by the King's command.

"Order all adventurers to look for Myaki and bring him here unharmed at once! The princess is offering 10,000 gold to the one who delivers him unharmed." Kentola said.

Toma was speechless as not only was he now facing a capital offense to the royal princess but having learned that the useless Myaki had the princess in his debt.

"Please forgive me princess Aria. But Myaki isn't someone to associate with. He is a thief, predator and a scoundrel. Perhaps I mistook the drawing for someone else."Toma protested with his head on the floor.

It was very logical to assume Toma had wrongly identified the boy in the drawing.

But the scar in the drawing on the boys cheek was unique so it was unlikely that it wasn't Myaki in the drawing.

"This Myaki you spoke of. Tell me what you know." Aria said in high hopes to learn more about the boy who saved her life.

Toma bowed for grabbing a book from behind the receptionist desk and opened it.

"Many adventurers had filed complaints about Myaki ranging from stealing their kill in a hunt or stealing a valuable artifact to stalking them." Toma said as he continued.

Aria and Kentola listened deeply but their expressions turned cold the more Toma spoke.

But not because they were appalled to have been saved by Myaki who had such a horrible reputation.

It was the constant inconsistencies in the reports.

"My lady, speaking from experience I believe none of these reports are accurate. The adventurers guild would never be this sloppy with incidents reports." Kentola said while Toma felt some sweat forming down his spine.

'Oh no she's already figured it out! Once she sees that we have rarely done investigations I'll be hanged!' Toma thought to himself.

Guild laws were changing because Toma himself was planning to flee to one of the neighboring kingdoms with the funds he had been embezzling.

And now all his plans were ruined by Myaki who saved the princess.

And Aria was quite smart for a girl her age to see what was going on as it was a well known fact that it was the royal family who funds most of the costs to the adventurers guild.

"Kentola, place Guild Master Toma under arrest until an investigation can be launched. Then issue the quest to the adventurers outside to find Myaki at once." Aria said.

"Yes my lady." Kentola said as she restrained Toma who had started to beg.

His pleads for mercy fell on deaf ears of Aria and Kentola while outside the adventurers guild Myaki had seen the royal knights blocking the entrance.

'Are they already issuing a bounty on my head?! Why can't I just get a break!' Myaki thought to himself.

Yet again Myaki's luck took a turn for the worst, even more so when he locked eyes with Kentola who read out a standard Adventurers commission document.

"By order of Princess Aria Salazan an emergency quest is issued to all adventurers. You are ordered to bring the one called Myaki unharmed back to the adventurers guild by days end. The reward will be 10,000 gold coins."Kentola said as she looked at the bewildered adventurers.

Not only was Princess Aria Salazan looking for Myaki but the once insignificant boy worth less then pig guts was now worth 10,000 gold.

With 10,000 gold even a commoner could buy a sizeable house and still not have to work for the rest of their life.

Gregor was the most excited by the reward.

'That reward is mine!'Gregor thought to himself while every other adventurer was thinking the same thing.

But Myaki? He was now beyond angry as to him it wasn't a quest meant to simply talk but to ensure no one else could kill him but princess Aria.

Now there was no safe space in the Kingdom for Myaki to hide in as even the hundreds of homeless beggars started looking for Myaki.

It was the hunt of the century for the kingdom of Tuonku and Myaki was both the prize and the target.

Everyone who had black hair wearing dark leather armor was forcibly subdued wether they were Myaki or not.

None of them thought to look for a well dressed and clean Myaki who was leaning against a large fountain in the central plaza.

'How do I get out of the city at this rate? All it will take is for one person to recognize my face and i'm finished.' Myaki thought.

However Myaki was too distracted to notice Gregor standing only a few feet from him with a sinister grin on his face.

"Found you Myaki~~~."Gregor said.

Myaki only realized he had been discovered as he saw a pair of leather boots at his feet.

"You've caused quite the ruckus within a certain princess didn't you Myaki? And she even offered a price on your head." Gregor said.

Myaki was now in the hands of an orge, a very annoying ogre who had been plaguing him for countless years.

And the rage and resentment for that one ugly ogre had reached a tipping point.

"Nameless Technique: Devils Retribution." Myaki said as a crimson aura surrounded him.

Myaki knew his own strength and had refined it to the pinnacle of power itself.

So for a C-Rank Adventurer to endure it was impossible as Myaki unleashed a barrage of punches with his aura infused into his fists.

But for those who were nearby it sounded like gunpowder barrels had exploded.

Each fist that connected to Gregor's armor was a testament to Myaki's fury.

His rage and fury knew no bounds even at the cost of damaging his body as more and more adventurers started trying to capture Myaki.

His ears ignored the pleads of mercy from the very same people who belittled him and abused him all his life.

Even Aria and her knights who had just arrived to see over a dozen adventures unconscious was shocked.

"Quick get the princess back to the mansion! I'll stop the boy before he causes more damage." Kentola commanded.

Given Myaki's strength and blinding rage to attack anyone who approached both Aria and Kentola knew Myaki was even more dangerous then the Wyrm.

But Aria wasn't just a princess, she was an adventurer as well.

"No, we will do it together. I refuse to let anyone else be hurt because of my actions." Aria said as the royal family golden aura enveloped her and her knights.

It was what made the royal family special among the nobles.

Divinity, a blessing from the gods themselves.

It was a power rarely used in the course of the royal family's history.

But given the threat they faced Aria thought it would be necessary.

They had only hoped to calm Myaki out of his frenzied state only to feel as if time had stopped and froze in place, including Myaki.

"That's quite enough disruption for today in my home." Said a man standing over the plaza while radiating an identical aura to Aria.

Everyone who was born within Tuonku knew the man who was giving off such pressure.

"Father! Please dont hurt the boy!" Aria shouted with joy.

It was none other then the King Himself, Hector Salazan.

Everyone who stepped foot in the Tuonku Kingdom knew of Hector Salazan and his many great titles.

Dragon Slayer, Holy Demon, Heaven's Hammer, God's Chosen Son, Breaker of Chains, Spiritual King of the elements and many more.

He had fought thousands of beasts and hundreds of battles for his kingdom.

His battle experience was second to none in the Tuonku Kingdom which was why Hector didn't see the boy on his knees as just a mere boy.

He saw his younger self in this nameless child as old as his daughter Aria and 3rd son, Prince Akal Salazan.

'A warrior can only unlock their aura with enlightenment or... under great pain... his strength is still impressive for a boy his age.' Hector thought.

If it weren't for Hector sending a constant wave of aura down on Myaki then Aria and the others would still have their guard up.

But Myaki was nothing more then a wounded animal caught in a cage.

Aria was the first to approach her father the king while kneeling all while Myaki kept struggling to move.

"Princess Aria greets the King, and thanks your majesty for his assistance." Aria said while Kentola kneeled next to her.

Hector however ignored Aria's greeting and walked past her to stand in front of Myaki who was still bound.

"Formalities are unnecessary for family my dear daughter. Now tell me who this boy is and why you would risk your life for him?" Hector said knowing fully that had he not intervened both Aria and her knights would have died.

Aria however did not say anything and simply snapped her fingers before Kentola pulled out a horn from her bag, specifically the horn of a Wyrm.

"He is the boy who had saved my life. But in my carelessness my actions were seen as a threat to the boy." Aria said.

She had yet to send word to Hector as he would've wanted to immediately meet Myaki so Hector was a little suprised to hear the boy had saved his daughter's life.

And more so that he killed such a beast as Hector had seen the horn of a Wyrm hundreds of times.

'A 7th Star Great Wyrm... this boys killed it by himself? Perhaps he may even be a great warrior yet.' Hector thought as he looked back at Myaki who still held the flames of defiance in his eyes for a few moments before his injuries and fatigue washed over him.

"Have him brought to the castle to be healed, bathed and fed. Should he request anything then fulfill his wishes. A royal family meeting is in order as we are now in this boy's debt." Hector Commanded.

"Yes your grace, it shall be done." Kentola said before Commanding her knights as she personally carried the unconscious Myaki with her.

Hector had the respect and trust of every knight under his banner and sigil.

And Hector was the King first and foremost so his word was law, literally.

Meanwhile Arch Healer Damon felt a chill run up his spine while he tried to brew a new potion.

'Is it becoming winter already? Perhaps it should try to create this elixir once the cold fades away.' Damon thought to himself.
