Chapter 6 - Retribution

In a large mansion on Bec street, one would see a very beautiful woman angrily berating an otherworldly handsome guy. If one looked more closely, they would see a striking resemblance between the two, probably they were even siblings.

"What part of 'Am old enough!' did you not understand?" Hanna was seething with anger.

"Let's calm down first," Jake calmly responded.

"Calm down! Do you think it is so fine after you breaking our promise? Didn't we agree that you wouldn't assign any bodyguards to me!".

"But I didn't renege on our promise.".

"Didn't you assign me some bodyguard to me named Lupin?".

"What!" probably about to deny the allegation, but as gears turned in his mind and thinking of an idea, he added, "I'm sorry. You know I only care about your safety.".

"Arrgh! Do you have to be so nagging? Anyway just bring me my phone, I really need it ASAP!".

My smile was way over the top. I had finally managed to complete this ridiculous quest. I was ecstatic to say the least. I had to walk myself home since I had no company but I was used, even more so that I now had a whooping 120 SP. This may seem little but only I had come to know the value of even a single SP.

Something felt strange as I approached my home. But I didn't pay any heed as I just attributed to the glee I had accumulated recently. I entered my not so organised house with a brand new phone in my hand. An ominous feeling kept on hovering around the house and that was when I noticed the inconsistency; a man clad in black sat in the chair.

Not giving me a chance to react, a group of burly men slammed the door that was still open and dragged me despite my prostrations until I was before the overly handsome guy. According to my recollection, I had not offended anyone of such a caliber. I was brought over and made—brutally made—to kneel before him.

"So, you stole my sister's phone! Good, it shows you have got some skill and so instead of getting rid of you, why don't you come and work for me, as a bodyguard for my sister," Jake haughtily said.

Before I could react, even more trouble came my way.

This greatly disappoints your ancestor, Lupin! Find a way to survive at all costs.

Reward: 200 SP

Penalty: Castration>.

With no other choice, I had to agree but how could I just agree like that.

"PAY?" I staredly asked.

"PAY!" he said "Don't worry about that and also get dressed because we're leaving right now!".

"Ohh! f*ck"

Situated in the heart of SKY city, the Reeves mansion was undoubtedly a feature of magnificent luxury embodiment. It was rumoured that in the past, way back in the past, the Reeves mansion was just a mere merchant's abode. It didn't take long before he was struck by godspeed luck. His business flourished and as a commemoration of his achievements, he took on the Reeves' family name. He is the primogen of all Reeves, Stark Reeves.

I was standing in the massive expanse of the Reeves mansion. But I wasn't excited or exhilarated about it, I was anxious—unsure of the fate that would befall me shortly. We roved through the paths and I couldn't stop myself from appreciating the adroit hands of the architect that had designed this place. Did he have to be so marvellous?

We continued into the house whose imposing doors majestically opened as if in reverence of the owner of this abode. Jake kept his all mighty attitude and we continued on our way.

My mouth went agape as I saw the jade walls of the mansion. The marble statues that gingerly occupied a domain each in the whole hallway. I lifted my eyes to stare at Jake's back that seemed to have grown more imposing.

'Brother, do you have to be so rich? Didn't your teachers tell you that too much of anything is always bad!'

We suddenly came to a halt and I decisively tried to look at the cause of the jam. A shiver immediately ran through my spine.

Palpitations covered my face and my heart began racing. I began regretting the day I was born. Hell, I was even praying for the day I would die. I wanted to dive in the deep abyss at that moment. I would really strike a deal with the devil.

Not far off from where we stood, a cold beauty seemed to be in a fit of rage. Contortions appeared on her face and it seemed at any moment the heavens would strike the cause of this abomination.

'Oops!'

It seems my death was near but as if to save me from my execution, Jake intervened.

"Oh, dearest Hanna! What's wrong now? Look, your phone is safe with me!"

As if soothing balm had been applied to my and Hanna's pain, the atmosphere grew calmer and as if reading the 'code', I replied,

"Ohh! Miss Hanna, I am sorry for the inconvenience but I had to ensure your safety first!"

Hanna scoffed and angrily she replied, "Well, you have to keep guard on my door all night!"

I nearly coughed blood but before I could retaliate, she grabbed the phone from my hand and left for her room. Helplessly, I followed her and stood guard. Jake was surprised but happy with the turn up of events; so he left.

As if to save me out of my reverie, a notification popped up.
