Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: A Cold Conversation

Someone barely talked about in the academy.

At this point, I barely even remember her name. Because I was far from interested in involving myself in the social life in the academy, I ignored everyone. I basically lived like a nameless shadow.

Still, it was impossible to not hear a thing or two.

As far as I knew, she was the heir of one of the seven pillars of the real world.

The pillars aren't anything extravagant, but rather families which possessed the strongest awakened in the world.

But as far as I knew, her family was one on the edge of collapse....

She was cold to everyone, so....

Everyone called her, the corrupted princess.

---

She was fast. Even wielding a weapon as light as a rapier, she was incredibly strong.

I used aen to assist my technics, but, I was no where close to her level.

I parried her attacks, but, counterattacking was impossible.

I tried my best to keep up, still, I was a step behind everyone single time. I was pushed back immediately, then she looked at me. Her face was cold, yet, it was as if she held a bit of hope for me.

I jumped back, then lunged forward.

[Sorrow's Dance- teary blade]

The attack went through, but, in the next moment, she broke through my defence and slit through the shroud. I evaded a major blow, by sacrificing my left eye. Blood flowed heavily. I looked at her, she felt even colder than before.

At this point, I was going to lose.

I looked at her, I couldn't help but see a mirage of Sylvia beneath the moonlight. I didn't understand what it meant at first, until, my mind blanked out.

[Attribute manifestation]

[Light]

Everything changed, the world around me and even the essence within me. It wasn't extravagant as I thought, until.....runes popped up before me.

[Passive trait- [Divine Light] is reacting]

I lunged forward, and for a fraction of a second it felt like she couldn't react. My aen drain completely in that moment.

My blade landed down on her neck.

Then the hex echoed

[Effects of blood fruit as worn off]

I was about to slice of her head, but, my mind went blank. .

The silver moon and even reality looked shattered for moment as I fell down, my eyes slowly shut.

---

After what felt like eternity, I woke up, the ceiling in front of me wasn't one I remembered at all. I faintly remember what happened, before I got up hurriedly.

I was alive.

But....why.

The bed beneath me was softer than anything I've ever felt. My sword was placed by a wall, a bit far away from me. I barely understood where I was, and then, I felt someone approach.

I fell back on the bed and pretended as much as I could to pretend that I was asleep.

A few seconds later,

A set of steps echoed in the room, stopping right in front of me. Then, a cold voice echoed in my ear.

"You woke up sooner than I expected", hearing that I tried to ignore her, until I felt an weird feeling fill me followed by a alarming stare.

I got off the bed, feeling the jig was up..

She walked away from me stopping in front of an arched window, gazing out at a mist covered courtyard.

I finally remembered her name.

Alina

Her long light purple hair flowed down her back, straight and untied. She was dressed in a plain white shirt, and a fairly long skirt. It felt very elegant.

Her sword was gone, but she didn't need it to feel dangerous.

She turned and stared at me, her eyes looked different, like polished amethyst. The same eyes that nearly killed me and the same eyes that let me live.

‡ You were out for two days.

She said, already sitting by the window.

Then she, stood up and took a step forward and then another, each one felt quiet and unmistakably practiced.

‡ You woke up too soon. Your injuries were severe, do you want the doctor to think that I'm torturing you.

I'm I a prisoner.

She smiled. While I barely showed even the slightest emotion on my face.

Unfortunately no, if you were, I wouldn't even think about treating you.

Then...Night stopped, changing his tone, he asked.

Who are you exactly.

Her smile faded, as she said.

My name is.....Alina Voss.

Night's composure crumbled the moment he heard her surname. VOSS, one of the three great family. They are not something to be messed with. They possessed a vast amount of resources after their founder conquered the third trial as and gained the control over the.....

Are you surprised.

She said, cutting my thoughts in half.

Night regained his composure and asked.

Then is it true...

What do you mean. She said, her smile fading.

Is it true the voss family is slowly on the verge of collapse.

Silence seeped in, as the both stayed quiet. Until, she said.

I cannot say.

Night never wanted a answer, he knew what he wanted to.

The atmosphere was already ruined, I looked around and try to find a way out, until she broke the silence and completely changed the atmosphere.

‡ As you may already know, the voss family is one of the seven great pillars, and one of the three great families.

To be honest, my family doesn't seek things like glory, we simply protect our legacy. Not by conquering but erasing threats before they arise...Permanently.

I was raised for simply one goal. To eliminate every threat that stands a chance to lead to the downfall of the voss family.

I said that so you would understand what I'm about to say next.

Your strong....night.

Her eyes locked straight into mine.

Cold, relentless.

A small yet terrifying smile crept onto her face, as she leaned over.

Simply put,

I want you....no, I need you to join the voss family...Night.

Join me, ki£@£@£&@.
