I turned towards the sound of breathing that wasn't mine or Jaxon's. How was it even possible that my day could get even worse than it already was?
My mind was still struggling to catch up with everything that had just happened, and now I had to deal with the possibility that my secret may have already been exposed.
Whomever it was doing a horrible job at being subtle, they still had no idea that I'd caught them. Fear and desperation tried to claw their way up my throat, but my wolf stamped them down in anger and screamed a single command inside my mind: Kill them.
I staggered back, shocked at myself and this new bloodlust bubbling within me. Normally, I'd want to question it, but there was no time now. My eyes snapped toward the row of iron-barred cells lining the corridor. At first, there was nothing, but slowly I caught the slightest movement of a figure shifting within one of the cells.
