"I... have I ever been struck by lightning...?"
Heisenberg's face went stiff.
He had to admit, it did kind of seem like he had been.
But to be fair, his abilities weren't the product of a lightning strike.
So he couldn't lie to the kid.
"How could I have been struck by lightning? Pfft, impossible..."
"Uh, okay, so I was wrong. What's your superpower, then?
I'm super fast. Like, really fast!
But I also get hungry super fast!
I need about seventeen times the food of a normal person every day, even more if I use my powers!
What about you? What part of you is fast?"
"No, no, no!"
Looking at the curious eyes of the young Flash, Heisenberg mercilessly shook his head.
"I'm not fast anywhere. Not one bit. Trust me!
As for what my superpower is...?"
Heisenberg glanced left and right, then grinned.
"I'm the Sun God."
"Whoa, that is so cool! The Sun God!
The night before last, I saw on the news that the Sun God showed up in Metropolis, and he even brought a whole night's worth of sunlight!
That story's been absolutely on fire the past few days, his name is all over every social network.
Heisenberg, right?
Buddy, you're using Sun God as your codename... aren't you worried the real Sun God, Heisenberg, is gonna come after you for trouble?"
The words barely landed before Heisenberg shook his head, speechless. He was about to answer, when the Flash next to him suddenly perked up with a jolt!
"Wait, I've made a huge mistake! It's you, it's you, it is you—our Sun God Heisenberg!!!"
Barry shouted and simultaneously reached straight out, grabbing hold of Heisenberg's hand.
"Oh my God, I can't believe it. I've seen the news, I really shouldn't have forgotten your face!
And I actually didn't recognize you. This is so embarrassing!
But thank God I finally remembered.
Oh, right—you don't mind me mentioning God in front of you, do you? I'm kind of on familiar terms with Him. You two don't have any beef, right...?"
"Ummm..."
Heisenberg was utterly at a loss. The Flash's chattiness was practically on par with Spider-Man's.
He shook his head helplessly and said, dead serious.
"I'll answer your questions, but we'd better find a more suitable place. I don't mind being gawked at, but you probably do, don't you?"
As he spoke, Heisenberg lifted his chin, indicating that people nearby had already started filming.
Not everyone had a scattered mind like the Flash. After the car accident, the citizens already focused on the area naturally locked onto the Flash and Heisenberg, the two closest to the scene.
And the center of their filming, of course, was Heisenberg, whom quite a few people had recognized—especially once the Flash had shouted his name!!!
Seeing this, the Flash smacked his forehead in frustration.
"My bad, give me a sec!"
The moment the words left his mouth, the Flash burst forward, zipping around and turning off every person's phone.
He even deleted the videos and photos they'd just taken along the way!
Heisenberg just found it absurd. The Flash's Speed Force was simply that buggy.
How on earth did those phones even keep up with that kind of speed!!!
Off to the side, the Flash finished dealing with everyone filming in a flash, then ran off into the distance without looking back.
"How about we chat at my hideout for a bit?"
he called out from afar, and Heisenberg nodded.
"Fine!"
With that, Heisenberg quietly lifted into the air and followed the Flash's steps in an instant.
A moment later, Heisenberg followed Barry into an old, abandoned warehouse.
He didn't squeeze through barbed wire or clamber over low walls like the Flash.
Instead, he sent himself straight in with a short-range Bifrost, arriving in that little hideout that needed to stay secret and wasn't suitable for him to just crash through.
And by the time Heisenberg touched down, the Flash had already swapped the T-shirt on his body for a proper Flash suit...
"I feel like chatting with you this way is a bit more natural, Mr. Sun God.
Too bad I don't have a more magnificent set of armor, or I'd definitely put it on to show you.
After all, in the first twenty years of my life, I never imagined I'd get the chance to walk with a god!
By the way, Sun God, where's your battle suit? Or, I mean, your armor?
Not convenient to wear it outside?
I remember I saved the video of you fighting that monster. Even though it's not too clear, your armor was insanely awesome!
And that lava chain and chain blade were totally badass!!!
I'd really love to get another look!"
The Flash, having changed into his suit, didn't stop his chatter just because his outfit had changed.
On the contrary—whether from excitement or nervousness, he actually talked even more.
Watching this young man, Heisenberg shook his head and gently sat down on a nearby chair.
"You'll get your chance to see that armor sooner or later. But right now, we'd better get down to business!"
"Business? What kind of business? Did some terrifying criminal come to Central City, or some fairy-tale monster?
Can I help? I think I should be able to help a bit, since I'm somewhat capable.
Sir, quickly, tell me where the guy is. Let's go catch him as soon as possible. I don't want my neighbors getting hurt!
So are we heading out now?
Where to?"
"Ugh..."
Heisenberg, at his wit's end, raised a palm and cut the Flash off.
He paused in silence, then, right at the moment the Flash was about to speak again, got in first.
"Barry Allen!"
"Huh?
Oh!
I'm here!
What's going on?"
"Listen to me, Barry Allen!
The night before last, before I finished off Doomsday, I received a message from a distant enemy.
He's going to invade Earth.
To prepare for the coming war, I intend to recruit enough heroes to form a team.
So far, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the future Aquawoman have all joined me.
As for now, I'm officially extending an invitation to you.
Will you join the Justice Lea—"
"I'M IN!!!"
The Flash shot over to Heisenberg with a whoosh. Grinning from ear to ear, he repeated over and over.
"Of course I'll join! Oh my God, an organization that has Batman and Superman in it, and the leader is the Sun God!
How could I possibly not join!
Oh, right, I think I mentioned God again. You really don't mind, right?
Otherwise from now on I'll just say: Oh, my Sun God! How about that?
Is that phrasing a little too long? Or I could switch it to...?"
"STOP!!!"
Heisenberg cut the Flash's words off bluntly. He stood up and shook hands with the stunned Flash.
"Glad you could join. So, the pleasantries end here!"
"Yes, sir! I'll listen to whatever you say. Being a knight of a god has always been a kid's dream, and I've actually gone and lived it!!
Haha!
But you'd better not send me charging at some demon lord. It's not that I'm scared—I just don't want to embarrass you. My suit isn't exactly water-absorbent, after all...
Oh, right, I forgot to ask earlier. Who's Wonder Woman? Who's Aquaman? What other cool teammates do I have?
Even though I've never heard of them, they sound crazy strong just from the names, right?
I'm kind of dying to meet them!
So where are we going next? If we don't have a base of operations, my warehouse should do pretty well.
There's a bit of dust here, but I can clean it up in a flash. Want to crash here for a day?
Or am I coming with you somewhere else?"
"You..."
This side of Barry made Heisenberg take a very deep breath.
A moment later, he clapped his hands, and the light of the Bifrost instantly enveloped him and the Flash.
"Whoa, this is awesome!!!"
Feeling the rainbow light around him and seeing that he had already arrived inside a Kryptonian ship, the Flash was so thrilled he could hardly describe it.
"This is my first time traveling like this! Haha, in the blink of an eye, I'm in another city!
To other people, I can do that too. They always think I go 'whoosh' and I'm there, but for me, I still have to run for quite a while.
Of course, my 'quite a while' is just a split second to them. But this kind of teleportation—I don't even need my legs!!!"
"STOP!!!"
Heisenberg was thoroughly done. With a thought, the Abyssal Armor, molten lava flowing across it, snapped onto his body, and he turned to the Flash with utter gravity.
"Bruce and Clark are currently out inviting other members. You should get to meet them tonight!
So before they get back, you can explore the ship a bit. This place will also be our base on Earth from now on.
Also, the base is undergoing preliminary renovations. If you want, you can come help out. I strongly suggest you do exactly that.
Most importantly, try to keep quiet...!!!"
"OK!!!"
Slap!
Barry clapped his own hand right over his mouth.
Seeing this, Heisenberg nodded in satisfaction, and the armor on his body rapidly dispersed.
Once the armor was completely gone, he changed into a set of black loungewear and contentedly sank onto a particle recliner that had just formed beside him.
He waved a hand, and the ship's dome slid open at once, sunlight beaming straight down onto his face.
It made him incomparably comfortable...
But that comfort barely lasted a dozen seconds before it was interrupted by the sound of Barry's voice, ringing out yet again.
"Hold up, boss, where's the bathroom?
Seriously, it's absolutely not that I got scared and need to pee—just being prepared.
Also, can I grab something to drink? I'm always hungry, always running low on nutrients, plus calories and carbs, especially sugar.
How am I supposed to go out and buy food?
And can you lend me twenty bucks first? I heard there's this amazing burger joint in Metropolis, I wanna..."
"WTF!!!
Goddammit, fine!!!
You can do whatever you want!
Except for my room—anywhere you want to go on this ship, just go!
I'm giving you access right now. You can wander around wherever you please!
We're the goddamn Justice League, not a flying prison. No one's restricting your freedom!
And I'll say it one last time: keep quiet!!!"
With that, Heisenberg hurriedly called over the little robot at his side and opened up the robot's midsection to show Barry.
"It's called Eva, our head of logistics. Whatever you want to eat, just ask it!"
As his words fell, an invisible bio-kinetic field sent Barry and the robot straight out of Heisenberg's room.
And after that, Heisenberg firmly sealed his own bedroom off.
The world was finally quiet. Aaaahhh!!!
Outside his bedroom, the completely innocent Flash looked at the equally innocent little robot...
"Umm, sorry about that. Didn't mean to make trouble for you, Chief!
I'll have a double-stacked extra-thick beef burger, triple pickles, double cheese, triple large Coke, one milkshake and a hot cocoa, plus traditional Mexican triangles with double hot sauce!
Thanks!"
He pressed his palms together and gave a little shake toward the little robot, and the little robot Eva...
Its adorable hovering head tilted slightly to one side, then tilted again...
"Got~~ it!"
With those words, Eva shot out of the ship and vanished in a flash.
As usual, countless street racers chased after Eva nonstop.
After helping Heisenberg buy things a few times, Eva was no longer an ordinary robot.
Now, it was the Chief Paladin in the eyes of Metropolis's citizens.
After all, every delivery driver is a truly great knight.
