Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Unexpected Neighbor

Was this what they call fate, or just a coincidence? They had only interacted in the game world, but now they finally met in the real world. Staring at the handsome young man in casual clothes made her cheeks flush. Her wish to meet her best friend in the real world had finally come true, even if it had been a rather painful experience.

She was still trembling as she held the large cardboard box in her hands. She hoped this wasn't a dream world, even though she hated her life so much right now. However, thanks to Flint, her neighbor, she would try to turn over a new leaf.

Of course, Flint didn't want to let his pretty neighbor carry the large cardboard box. He immediately grabbed it and flung the door wide open.

"Do you want to come into my residence?" he asked softly.

Ellen nodded. "Of course."

Flint hadn't expected the woman who had always been his playmate to become his neighbor. He couldn't help but smile even wider. He set the package down in the corner of the wall for a moment, then led his special guest into the living room. He also hoped this wasn't a dream world or a game, as he desperately wanted to interact with his best friend in the real world.

"By the way, do you want to drink tea or coffee?" he asked shakily.

Ellen laughed awkwardly at her friend's nervous behavior, unlike their close friendship in the gaming world. "Just water."

Flint immediately poured a glass of water into a cup and placed it on the table. "Sorry if I looked nervous in front of you."

"I know it must still be a shock for you that we finally met in such a strange way." Ellen took a moment to sip her water slowly. "By the way, it seems your package got lost at my house. You wrote down the wrong apartment number."

Flint immediately looked away, staring at the still-sealed package. "Sorry, I accidentally misspelled the apartment unit number. Luckily, there are only two units on each floor."

"But, I really like how we met this way. We don't have to meet in the game world." Her eyes were drawn to the luxuriously furnished apartment unit. She was actually curious about Flint's identity. If he came from a wealthy family, why did he suddenly move to this humble apartment?

"I'm very happy to meet you too, Ellen."

"By the way, have you lived here long? From what I can see, all the furniture here looks brand new."

"I just moved here a few days ago too."

"What?"

Flint scratched his head with an innocent expression. "But don't worry. I didn't know you were moving here at first either. It was just a coincidence. I didn't want you to think I was a stalker."

Seeing her friend's innocence, Ellen burst out laughing, her cheeks turning red. "Flint, there's no way I'd ever consider you a stalker. Even when I met you in real life, I could see right through it. You're definitely better than my ex."

Remembering the hot scandal that had befallen his best friend for a week, Flint couldn't contain his anger, as it was clear his friend had been framed. However, no one else was willing to defend her, not wanting to be dragged into this serious problem. He had also asked Alfonso for help in finding CCTV footage at his parents' hotel, but he was denied access to retrieve the duplicate footage. That was the only clue he had.

For now, he could only pretend to be an ordinary young man so Ellen wouldn't feel awkward around him. He preferred their friendship like this to Ellen keeping her distance from him just because he was the CEO of Fantasia Star Studio. Ellen would surely be shocked too if he were the creator of the game "Era of The Jade Dawn."

"Really? Am I really a good person in your eyes?"

Ellen nodded. "Of course. I told you before. You're a good person, that's why I trust you."

"I'm not a good person, though. What if I end up causing you trouble in the future?"

"Even though you're causing me trouble, at least you didn't try to trap me." Her arms were folded. "But I'm curious about you. Looking at all the furniture in your house, you're no ordinary person. Are you rich?"

A mischievous smile spread across his handsome face. "Are you that curious about my true identity?"

Her eyes struggled to blink as she stared at her friend's smile, making her even more nervous. "I didn't mean to be so curious, actually."

"I'm disappointed, Ellen. If I were you, you'd be curious about my identity. Especially since you've been playing a detective in dramas all this time."

Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open. "You've been watching my drama this whole time?"

"I've probably only watched a few since I found out you're a famous actress." He put his hands on his hips. "They really are so cruel. If they were jealous of you, they shouldn't have put you down like this! You look so great in the drama."

"For now, I want to take revenge on everyone who wanted to harm me. It's all thanks to you who suggested it."

Flint smiled sweetly at his friend, who finally bounced back like a game character. He preferred his friend looking strong rather than constantly crying in the video that had gone viral on social media. He resolved to continue comforting his friend whenever he felt anxious. It was also a way of thanking her for comforting him almost every night.

Since their relationship is now as neighbors, of course Flint doesn't want to miss this golden opportunity to strengthen his relationship with his best friend by any means. "By the way, don't get too excited! I won't be like I was in the game! I'll probably keep bothering you."

Ellen laughed awkwardly, folding her arms. "Wouldn't it be more likely that I'd be the one causing you trouble? Since I just moved in today."

"People usually call me the most troublesome person. Are you willing to be bothered by me?"

"Why are you suddenly saying this? I don't think you're that type of guy."

Flint immediately pointed to his still-sealed package. "Just like my package that got lost at your house. Isn't that a hassle too?"

"But-"

"I'm curious about you. Are you still willing to be friends with me after being bothered by me so many times?"

Her head was raised arrogantly. "Of course. Aren't we friends? If you really need help, I have to help you."

"Is this why you are easily fooled by your best friend?"
