Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Lowest Point

What Sora said was no lie; now all the companies that signed contracts with Ellen are immediately seeking to cancel their contracts and seek compensation. Due to the scandal that's gone viral on social media, Ellen now has to pay a fine, forcing her to give up her condominium. Fortunately, she still has some savings from her years as an actress and model. Despite this, she's still reluctant to use all her savings to pay the fine.

Ellen still stood facing the agency CEO, who still refused to give up on threatening her. She clenched her fists tightly and flashed a sinister smile, indicating she wasn't about to admit defeat so easily.

"Do you have to go to such lengths to get rid of me? I know you're jealous because everyone likes me. But that doesn't mean you're going to resort to dirty tricks to get rid of me."

Lauren rolled her eyes, laughing psychotically. "Do you still not understand the situation? You're not an actress anymore. You better not be hallucinating too much!"

"Since you've caused the agency such a huge loss, we're still kind enough not to let you pay the entire fine. You'll just have to find a new place to live from now on."

"I should have been suspicious the moment the agency gave me the condo. If anything happened to me, it wouldn't be mine anymore. Furthermore, when Penelope looked for CCTV footage in the condo, there wasn't a single one because it was routinely reset. Was it to erase the evidence?"

Sora gripped Ellen's shoulders tightly. "Don't assume anything. You'd better get out of here before everyone hates you even more." Her eyes fell on Penelope, who was still standing silently next to Ellen. "Penelope, you can stay at the agency if you want."

Penelope responded with a sarcastic smile. She took off her name tag and tossed it on the table. "Starting today, I will be resigning."

Ellen's eyes widened. "Is that okay, Penelope?"

"Why should I continue working at this disgusting agency? I'd rather just stay with you, Ellen."

Sora clapped her hands in a mocking rhythm. "Fine, if you really want to resign. I have no right to stop you from leaving, since you're Ellen's best friend."

"Looks like I need to pack up first, Mrs. Sora. Thank you for calling me and Penelope here just to show off your relationship with Lauren."

Ellen now returns to her condominium after arguing with Sora and Lauren. Although she appears strong, she's so nervous about fighting the two bad guys that her legs are shaking. When she arrives at her condominium, she finds the door wide open, and officers rush in carrying out various pieces of furniture, making her eyes widen.

She ran into her apartment with Penelope and saw how completely destroyed it was, having been ransacked by condominium officials. All of her picture frames were smashed, and her entire collection of luxury handbags and shoes had been confiscated. She then ran into her bedroom and, seeing the staff trying to lift his bed, immediately stopped him.

"What are you guys doing?!" Ellen screamed, pushing one of the officers.

"Of course, we received orders from Mrs. Sora to secure this unit."

"But, I should have been given time until I managed to find a new place to live! Why did you guys act immediately before receiving any instructions from Mrs. Sora?"

"It was Mrs. Sora who told us to vacate this unit immediately."

Ellen put on a pleading expression, rubbing her palms together quickly. "Please, give me a week until I find a new place to live. I promise I'll move in right away."

"If Mrs. Sora fires us, you will be responsible too!"

Now all the condominium staff had quickly left the unit. Only Ellen and Penelope remained, sitting helplessly on the living room sofa, which had yet to be removed. Seeing the mess her home was in, Ellen burst into tears, as if she were truly bankrupt.

Penelope won't stand idly by as the actress reaches her lowest point. Her current task is to find a place for the actress to settle. She'll also help her find work, even though in a situation like this, all companies would likely blacklist her.

"Ellen, I will help you find a simple, but comfortable apartment to live in."

"Thank you, Penelope. You are like this because of me."

"Don't blame yourself anymore, Ellen! I'm sure you'll be able to get revenge on them once you have the evidence."

"For now, I have to find a job first. I don't want to be a coward just because I'm accused of stealing another man. Mrs. Sora, Lauren, and Harley must be all working together to bring me down."

A week later…

Ellen now lives in an apartment, a smaller unit than her condominium. Although smaller, it's comfortable to live in, as it's close to several prestigious corporate buildings. She also decided to find a simple job because she's not the type of woman who likes to stay silent when facing difficult situations.

Today was her first day moving into this apartment. She guided several staff members as they moved all her belongings into the apartment and organized the layout. Fortunately, she had some spare savings to buy various home furnishings from her parents.

With the furniture moving completed, she now roamed around her peaceful abode. Although her lifestyle was simpler than before, at least she could still afford to rent an apartment to live in temporarily.

ting…tong…

Hearing the loud sound of the doorbell ringing, she immediately opened the door of her residence, welcoming the arrival of the courier who was carrying a large package.

"There's a package for you."

Her brow furrowed. "A package? I didn't order one? Maybe the unit next door ordered it."

"Then, can you give this package to him? I'm in a rush to deliver a lot of packages today."

Ellen was forced to comply with the courier's instructions. She lifted the large box and walked to the unit next to hers. The label did indicate the unit number was addressed to her, but she suspected her neighbor had written the wrong address when ordering the package.

She momentarily pressed the doorbell of the neighboring unit while lifting the large box. Less than ten seconds later, the door to the residence was opened by a handsome young man. Her eyes widened as she stared at the handsome face; it was someone she recognized.

"Flint?"
