"No I don't." She replied calmly.
The garden quietened. Even the infernals that were growling stopped for a few seconds. Then everything returned to normal like a breath held and released.
Felix's eyes widened with disappointment.
The crowd turned to Linda with amazement.
"He was mine to begin with," Linda added calmly.
Larent blinked, a smile pulling at his lips. "Ooh. But to save the others, he's supposed to die?" He asked her.
Linda bit her lower lip, hand clenched into a fist.
Her eyes scanned the crowd before she turned her head to look at Larent. "I—"
"The two of you would still be killed," Larent cut her mid-sentence.
He knew what her choice was. Her choice to become an infernal. It would've been a better choice if Felix wasn't a king. If Linda had no family to return to.
Linda's head dropped with disappointment.
Larent's eyes turned to Chloe with a warm smile.
"It's your turn to choose," he told her, warmth in his voice.
