Chapter 16 - Chapter 14: The Talking Snake & Wolf

**Paras City Forest Outskirts – Deep Night**

The forest edge was alive with the soft symphony of night—crickets chirping in hidden choirs, leaves whispering secrets to the wind, moonlight painting every branch and root in silver and shadow. It was a place of peace, of ancient roots and hidden life, where the world felt older than memory.

Until it wasn't.

A small monkey darted up a towering tree—chittering in pure panic, tiny hands and feet scrambling for grip on rough bark. Its tail flicked wildly behind it like a flag of surrender. Below, a lion roared—deep, earth-shaking, a sound that vibrated through bones and soul. Golden eyes locked on its prey with primal hunger. Paws thundered against the forest floor, sending leaves and dirt flying in frantic clouds.

The monkey leaped—branch to branch—heart pounding like a war drum. Branches cracked under its weight. The lion bounded faster—muscles rippling under golden fur, jaws open, saliva gleaming in the moonlight.

The monkey dove into a dark cave mouth—hidden behind thick vines and moss-covered stone.

The lion followed—roaring—paws scraping rock, claws leaving deep gouges in the entrance.

Inside the cave—cool, damp darkness swallowed them whole. The air grew thick, heavy with the scent of wet earth, old stone, and something older—something primal, something that had slept for far too long.

The monkey skidded to a stop—chest heaving, eyes wide.

The lion pounced—paw slamming down, pinning the monkey beneath heavy, unyielding weight.

Both froze.

Their eyes met—monkey sweating bullets, lion's pupils shrinking to pinpricks of sudden fear.

Then—both looked deeper into the cave.

Something moved.

Massive.

Coiled.

Green.

A gigantic snake—almost 90 feet long—slithered forward from the shadows with slow, deliberate grace. Pure emerald scales gleamed faintly in the dim moonlight filtering through cracks above. Purple eyes glowed—sleepy, annoyed, ancient. Sharp fangs flashed in a slow, lazy yawn that revealed rows of curved ivory.

The snake's voice rumbled—low, echoing off stone walls like distant thunder rolling through a valley.

"Who the hell dared to arrive inside my cave!?"

The monkey squeaked—high-pitched, terrified.

The lion yelped—actually yelped, tail tucking.

Both bolted—tails between legs—running for their lives, scrambling out of the cave and into the night, disappearing into the underbrush like ghosts fleeing judgment.

The snake sighed—long, tired, world-weary, the sound like wind through ancient leaves.

"At least they helped me wake up after months…"

She slithered forward—body undulating slowly through the forest. Trees bent aside as if bowing in reverence. Leaves rustled in quiet awe. The ground trembled faintly with each powerful coil. Her purple eyes scanned the darkness—half-lidded, bored, yet sharp with centuries of wisdom.

The forest itself seemed to hold its breath in her presence.

Then—

A roar answered—deep, feral, shaking the canopy like an oncoming storm.

A massive gray wolf burst from the undergrowth—70 feet tall at the shoulder, fur bristling like steel wire under moonlight. A golden kite logo gleamed on her forehead like a crown of ownership. Eyes glowed fierce gold—wild, possessive, unyielding. She planted paws—claws digging deep into earth, roots cracking like bones.

"Who are you?" the wolf snarled, voice echoing through the trees like thunder. "This is my jungle."

The snake tilted her massive head—slow, unimpressed, almost amused.

"It's not your jungle alone. It's everyone's…"

The wolf snarled—tail lashing like a whip, cracking a nearby tree in half with the force.

"I don't care. It's only mine!"

She slammed a claw down—earth exploding upward in a shower of dirt and roots.

The snake dodged—fluid, effortless, body flowing like water between stones.

"Oh, don't rush." Her voice was calm, almost soothing, yet carried the weight of centuries. "By the way… can I know your name?"

The wolf slammed her tail—ground cracking like thunder, trees swaying.

"I am Aoi."

The snake tilted her head again—dodging another strike with lazy, elegant grace.

"I am Wano."

Wano pushed forward—body glowing purple, scales shimmering like living amethyst.

Transformation.

Human mode.

Short green hair cascaded down, a single red flower tucked behind one ear like a quiet flame. Purple eyes sharpened—glowing faintly with ancient power. A green dress hugged her form—short, flowing, elegant yet wild. Instead of legs—a long, powerful snake tail coiled beneath her, scales catching moonlight like polished emeralds.

Wano smiled—raising one hand gracefully.

"Now you can transform too."

Aoi's golden eyes narrowed—fierce, defiant, burning.

"Sure."

She shifted—fur receding, body shrinking with a burst of golden light.

Human mode.

Waist-length gray hair flowed like moonlight on water. Gray eyes burned fierce and bright. Wolf ears twitched atop her head, tail swaying behind her with restless energy. She wore a wolf-designed sweater—oversized, cozy, ending at her knees—wild yet strangely cute in its defiance.

Aoi slipped her hands into pockets—casual, confident, cocky.

"Whatever… I'm winning this battle. I need the whole jungle."

Wano raised an eyebrow—tail flicking lazily, almost playfully.

"Let's see."

Wano rushed—punching forward with surprising speed.

Aoi dodged—lightning-fast, grinning.

"That's all you've got?"

Aoi countered—kicks blurring like wind through leaves.

Wano dodged—twice, graceful as flowing water.

Then—a kick landed on Wano's abdomen.

Wano flew—crashing through five trees—wood splintering like glass, leaves exploding outward in green confetti.

She wiped blood from her mouth—smiling, almost impressed.

"Not bad."

She leaped—tail whipping like a lash.

A purple poisonous slash erupted—cutting air with a venomous hiss.

Aoi dodged—barely. The slash struck a tree behind her—bark sizzling, dissolving from poison, leaves withering instantly to black.

Aoi cracked her knuckles—grinning wider, eyes alight.

"Let me show you what raw strength can do."

Wano appeared in front—close, too close.

"Stop talking."

Barrage of punches—each one laced with poison shockwave, purple energy crackling like lightning.

Aoi blocked—arms straining, muscles burning—but crashed backward into a mountain.

The mountain exploded—rocks rising like broken teeth, dust clouding the sky.

Aoi dashed through the airborne debris—speed blinding, wind howling around her.

Wano flash-stepped—reaching her mid-air.

Sky clash.

Fists met—shockwave erupting outward. Rocks fell like deadly rain. The moon itself seemed to tremble in the sky.

**Aoi's POV**

Spinning—earth to sky, sky to earth, world blurring into streaks of silver and green.

She landed a burning kick—flames trailing from her heel like comet fire.

Wano blocked—crashed downward.

But Wano pushed off—reaching Aoi again.

Aoi countered—tail whipping like a steel cable.

Wano grabbed it—own tail coiling around.

"Is that it?" Wano smirked—calm, almost pitying. "Kinda disappointing."

Elbow to Aoi's gut—poison flaring.

Aoi crashed—rolling through trees, earth tearing, animals fleeing in panic.

Lions, monkeys, birds—hiding in terror, eyes wide, hearts pounding.

Aoi's eyes glowed—golden, furious, wild.

"Whatever… I am the real queen of the forest!"

Wano smiled—slow, dangerous, ancient.

"Then come and prove it."

Aoi jumped—kicking with all her strength.

Wano punched—poison shockwave exploding.

The poison hit Aoi's gut—burning, spreading like liquid fire.

Aoi backpedaled—pain flaring hot, eyes watering.

"I'm not forgiving you for thisss!!"

She dashed to a tree—snapped it in milliseconds—formed a massive spear.

She swung.

Wano blocked—dodged—but the slash grazed her cheek—thin red line blooming like a warning.

Wano held the spear—snapped it in half.

"Now it's my turn."

She raised one finger—purple poison bullets firing like machine-gun rounds.

Aoi backflipped—dodging.

Fists met—shockwave again.

Aoi uppercut—jaw cracking.

Wano flew upward.

Aoi launched—20 punches mid-air, each one a thunderclap.

Wano closed her eyes—injured, falling.

Aoi landed the final kick—abdomen.

Wano crashed—through Paras City buildings, shops, festival areas, playgrounds—night sky lit by destruction.

Everyone felt it.

Blu—in his mansion—sleeping peacefully, hugging a donkey plush—jerked awake, eyes wide.

Sai—in his dojo—meditating—eyes snapped open, sword already in hand.

Yuki & Astra—watching a movie—froze, snacks forgotten.

Yuki whispered—voice tense.

"Something… is wrong."

At the destruction zone.

Wano pinned against a wall—bleeding, breathing hard, purple eyes dim.

"Please… someone help… the jungle is in danger…"

Aoi stood far—on a tree—smirking proudly, tail swaying.

"The jungle is mine."

Suddenly—

Blu appeared—arms folded, cape fluttering without wind.

His eyebrow twitched—voice low, dangerous.

"What are you doing here… little girl?"

Wano looked up—weak, desperate.

"I need help…"

Sai, Astra, Yuki arrived—running through the chaos.

Sai gripped his sword—eyes narrowing, voice cold.

"I already sense the imposter."

Aoi—on her tree—watched them, grinning.

"Well… the jungle is still mine. You can't take it from me anyway."

The forest held its breath.

The real battle had only just begun.
