Chapter 22 - FHSP Chapter 22: The Golden King and the Backstab of Justice

"To think that in a single night, two shameless thieves would emerge to call themselves kings while ignoring my presence."

The golden Servant's first words were accompanied by a cold, displeased sneer as he looked down upon everyone present with utter disdain. His arrogant attitude and tone were similar to the King of Conquerors, yet they possessed a ruthless cruelty that Iskandar lacked.

Iskandar himself hadn't expected to encounter an opponent even more overbearing than he was. He scratched his chin, looking somewhat puzzled.

"This is quite a dilemma. I, Iskandar, am indeed the world-renowned King of Conquerors, without a doubt."

"Fool! In all of heaven and earth, I alone am the true King and Hero. All others are nothing more than a collection of mongrels." Archer folded his arms across his chest, rebuking them with total contempt.

Hearing such boastful words, Saber and Lancer both found it difficult to maintain their composure. However, before either knight could respond, someone had already taken action.

Without a word, Kamitani Yuu raised his hand toward Gilgamesh, and a small piece of wood engraved with a rune flew from his palm.

"Hagalaz (Ice)!"

The wood shot toward Gilgamesh at the top of the streetlamp with the speed of a lightning bolt. Just as it was about to touch his body, it suddenly detonated, releasing a terrifying chill that seemed capable of freezing all of existence.

Crack!

In an instant, the only remaining streetlamp on the street was encased in solid ice. Gilgamesh, however, was not frozen along with it. In that critical moment, he had exploded with incredible speed, leaping away to dodge the sudden strike.

"Tch, what a shame. I missed, did I..." Yuu muttered to himself with a hint of regret.

"Mongrel, you dare—!" After landing back on the ground, Gilgamesh's crimson eyes flashed with a glimmer of fury, his face contorting as he shouted.

"A half-blood of god and man dares to call others mongrels?"

Before Gilgamesh could finish his sentence, Yuu interrupted him with a cold laugh. "I'd say you're the biggest mongrel here, Goldie."

To be honest, Yuu never had a good impression of this "Ancient Bully." This first meeting only served to deepen his dislike for the Archer version of Gilgamesh. If it were the younger Child-Gil or the wise Caster-Gil, it might be different. As for this Archer... he needed to go back to the Throne and "reflect" for a while.

Furthermore, provoking Gilgamesh was part of the plan. Only by forcing him to reveal his unreasonable strength would Yuu have the chance to unite the other Servants to defeat him.

"What did you say?!" Stung by the remark about his heritage, Gilgamesh's rage reached its peak. The deep furrows between his brows made his face look suddenly demonic. "Such insolence! Even ten thousand deaths would not atone for your crime. Mongrel, I shall turn you to ash!"

Despite a strange sense of familiarity upon first seeing Yuu, Gilgamesh's logic was now clouded by fury. He wanted nothing more than to tear the insolent human limb from limb.

As his roar subsided, several mirage-like ripples appeared in the space behind Archer. In the next heartbeat, weapon blades gleaming with cold light emerged from the golden ripples. Swords, axes, and spears—all were ornately decorated and radiated a prana that couldn't be hidden. These were clearly no ordinary weapons; they were precious Noble Phantasms.

"This... how is this possible..." Waver was paralyzed with fear. From the shadows, even the hidden Kayneth held his breath, while Emiya Kiritsugu and Hisau Maiya watched from afar, their bodies tensed with shock.

While Servants often had more than one Noble Phantasm, having three or four was usually the limit. But this golden Servant seemed to have an infinite arsenal, drawing one weapon after another. It was a "Noble Phantasm shock" for everyone present.

"Now, I shall pass judgment upon you. Die with gratitude, mongrel!"

At Archer's command, the cluster of Noble Phantasms launched toward Yuu. Shooting weapons out of thin air without touching them was likely why this golden Servant was an Archer. Yet, the way he treated them was far too casual—throwing them like mere stones, tossing aside the most important treasures of a Heroic Spirit like junk.

Despite the crude method, the destructive power was immense. The asphalt road was overturned as if by explosives, and the pulverized debris turned into a cloud of dust that obscured the view.

"..."

Everyone present held their breath.

Within the haze, Yuu's slender figure was faintly visible. The scattered weapons slammed into the ground, creating craters of various sizes. As if he could foresee the trajectory of every blade, Yuu walked down the street as if no one else were there; not a single nameless Noble Phantasm could graze him.

"You have some skill after all, mongrel. No wonder you dared to bark before me." Gilgamesh's eyes locked onto Yuu, a bloodthirsty smile spreading across his face. "If I let you die so easily, my rage will not be appeased."

"Save the talk for if you survive, Archer!"

Yuu dropped low, aiming his prana-saturated right hand directly at Gilgamesh.

"Sunburst!"

A searing, explosive stream of light condensed in his palm. In the next moment, it roared toward Gilgamesh, ravaging everything in its path. An 8th-level spell to start—out of respect.

Simultaneously, more light shimmered around Gilgamesh. Sixteen golden ripples expanded in the air behind him like a saint's halo. Sixteen weapons of varying shapes whistled forth to meet the incoming blast of heat.

A boom resounded through the atmosphere. The explosion's flash almost completely swept away the darkness, illuminating the night sky for miles. Waver and Irisviel were forced to hide behind their respective Servants to avoid the shockwave. The other Servants watched with grim intensity, collecting every shred of data from this clash between a modern human magus and a top-tier Servant.

Moments later, the dust cleared. Yuu's figure was gone.

"Hmph. So he fled? To think the mongrel escaped with his life—" Gilgamesh crossed his arms, about to say more.

But in the next second, Yuu's silhouette appeared directly behind him. He swung his vermilion demonic spear, shimmering with mystical light, and thrust it toward Gilgamesh's back.

"Take my backstab of justice!"
