Chapter 26 - FHSP Chapter 26: The Wanderer’s Suspicion and the Sudden Proposal

Morning.

In the vast expanse of the sky, wisps of thin clouds drifted with the wind, allowing warm sunlight to filter through and scatter across the ground. Unlike the Tohsaka and Matou estates, which were established in the old district of Fuyuki, the Kamitani residence was located in the highly modernized New Town. From Yuu's home to the Hyatt Hotel—currently the tallest building in Fuyuki—it was only a ten-minute walk.

Speaking of which, isn't Odin being a bit too good to me? We have no blood relation, yet it feels... off, Yuu thought as he walked through the bustling streets. His thoughts spread like overgrown weeds. Reflecting on Odin's actions over the past few days, he couldn't help but frown.

Even though he was Odin's Master, the Norse Great God's attitude was unexpectedly cooperative—one might even say he was at Yuu's beck and call. Even toward the "Grand Succubus" Gudako, Odin hadn't been this meticulous in his guidance, usually only offering aid at critical junctures. Since this world wasn't facing a world-ending crisis, why had this God-King come here?

It couldn't be because I'm actually his son, could it?

The absurd thought popped into his head, and Yuu couldn't help but chuckle. To him, the idea was as "mind-blowing" as Kennedy—totally unrealistic. But thinking carefully, wasn't the similarity between him and Odin a bit too high? The Mystic Eyes that see the future, the undodgeable demonic spear, and the Original Runes—everything Yuu excelled at could find a counterpart in Odin's abilities.

If you look at it that way, it's not entirely impossible...

However, just as Yuu was lost in thought, a shout came from behind him.

"Hey! Caster's Master! Over here, over here—!"

Not far away, Iskandar was dressed in modern casual clothes, cradling recently purchased items in his arms. He stood at the entrance of a shop, waving vigorously at Yuu. The red-haired giant's hulking frame and booming voice immediately drew the attention of passersby. A foreign giant of that height was a rare sight in Fuyuki.

"I-Idiot! What do you think you're doing, casually greeting an enemy Master like that...!"

Before Yuu could react, Waver had already panicked. He scrambled to pull Iskandar's hand down, but due to the height difference, no matter how much he hopped around, he couldn't stop Iskandar's brazen behavior.

"Fine! Do whatever you want, I don't care anymore!!" Waver clutched his head in frustration, shouting in a low, despairing voice. Through the corner of his eye, he saw Yuu turn around and begin walking toward them.

"Excuse me, guests, would you like to order anything else?"

In a nearby dessert shop, a young waitress approached the table where the three were sitting, offering a polite smile. It would have been a more professional smile if her gaze hadn't kept drifting toward the handsome Yuu, her cheeks tinged with a slight pink.

"Thank you, but we're fine for now," Yuu said with a gentle, polite refusal.

"Ah, right. Sorry to bother you—" Seeing her attempt at a conversation fail, she didn't linger, though she left with a look of visible regret.

"Hahaha! That's the seventh one, isn't it? I didn't expect Caster's Master to be quite so popular," Iskandar let out a hearty laugh once the girl was gone. "Such captivating charm—even compared to this King, you hold your own!"

"???" Waver looked up at Iskandar with a expression that said: With your rugged looks, where do you get the courage to say something like that?

"Let's stop the teasing there, Rider," Yuu said, shaking his head dismissively at the Conqueror's joke. He asked quietly, "You called me over. Is there something on your mind?"

Iskandar didn't answer immediately. Instead, he loudly sucked the last of his drink through a straw.

"Don't be so serious, Caster's Master..." Iskandar cleared his throat. "Even though we are currently enemies, there are still things we can discuss."

What, do you want to talk about "loving your country" too?

"If you're going to ask me to join your ranks, you can save your breath," Yuu replied flatly, seeing through him.

"While I certainly have that thought, unfortunately, that's not what I wanted to discuss today." Iskandar scratched his head and sighed with regret, his expression then turning solemn.

"Every participant in the struggle for the Grail should have their own wish. For instance, this boy beside me wants to win to prove his worth. And my wish, as Iskandar the King of Conquerors, is to obtain a physical body so that I may conquer the world once more with my own strength!"

"So, Caster's Master... what is your wish?"

Iskandar stared at Yuu. In this moment, he shed his usual playful facade, looking every bit the awe-inspiring King. An invisible, heavy pressure permeated the dessert shop, causing nearby customers to instinctively lower their voices.

"A wish for the Grail, huh..." Facing Iskandar's pressure, Yuu remained composed. He gently stirred his coffee with a silver spoon, his voice calm. "Regrettably, I have no such need. I joined this war simply to take care of a few trivial matters."

"Oh?" Iskandar arched an eyebrow in surprise, and even Waver looked puzzled.

"However, you've come at just the right time. There is something I wanted to discuss with you as well." Yuu smiled, finally revealing his purpose for being out today.

"Would you two like to form a temporary alliance with me and Kayneth?"
