Chapter 173 - A Menace at Breakfast

Jay Jay's POV

I blinked open my eyes to the bright morning sun, my body instantly remembering the fierce intensity of the night before. A deep, heavy warmth settled between my thighs, a stubborn reminder of exactly how Keifer had claimed me in his silent fury. I rolled over, expecting to find his heavy arm locked around my waist, but the bed beside me was empty.

After a long, soothing bath that finally eased the worst of the friction, I walked into the kitchen. The rich aroma of brewing coffee and frying eggs filled the air. There he was, standing by the stove. But the second he heard my footsteps, his shoulders stiffened.

He avoided my gaze, deliberately looking everywhere else as he placed a loaded plate of breakfast on the table and poured a mug of black coffee for himself.

He sat down, completely ignoring my existence. Oh, so we are still playing the stubborn game, I thought, a mischievous spark lighting up inside me.

I sat down across from him, leaning my elbows on the table and pushing my lips out into the most dramatic, exaggerated pout I could muster. "Keifer... look at me," I whined, letting out a tiny, soft hiccup for effect. "I'm so, so sorry about last night. Please forgive your girl? I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

I repeated it like a please, tilting my head into his line of sight, but he just stared at his mug, completely unbothered.

That was it. It was time for a full-blown tantrum.

"Fine! Be that way!" I wailed loudly, throwing my hands up in the air and kicking my foot against the table leg. I squeezed my eyes shut, forcing myself to cry out dramatically.

"You're just going to let me sit here and starve while you treat me like a ghost! You're so heartless, Keifer! I'm literally begging for mercy!"

I sniffled loudly, peeking through my fingers to see if his stoic expression was cracking. He still hadn't moved a muscle, though I could see his chest rising with a deep breath.

Time to pull out the ultimate drama card.

"And besides, you were so mean to me last night!" I whimpered, rubbing my thigh dramatically. "You really hurt me, Keifer! My whole body is broken because of how harsh you were, and now you won't even speak to me when I'm wounded!"

Keifer's POV

I was making breakfast for her by the time she walked into the kitchen after her bath, I already had breakfast ready. I decided to tease her a little, i avoiding her cute gaze as I set her plate down and focused entirely on my coffee.

Sitting across from me, she instantly started her routine. She pushed her lips out into a massive, adorable pout, her big eyes looking up at me as she started chanting apologies over and over. Secretly, I was thoroughly enjoying every single second of it. Seeing her scramble so cutely for my attention always fed my possessive nature, but I kept my face entirely blank, forcing myself not to smile.

But because I stayed quiet, my drama queen completely flipped the script.

Suddenly, she started throwing a full-blown tantrum right there in her chair, kicking her feet and wailing dramatically about how heartless I was. It was so incredibly cute I could barely contain myself. But then, she crossed her arms and threw a wild accusation into the air.

"You really hurt me last night, Keifer! My whole body is broken because of how harsh you were!"

The dramatic whine in her voice instantly dissolved my silent act. Even though I knew she was laying the theater on thick, the reminder of last night—and the fact that I actually had been rough enough to leave a mark—made a sharp wave of protective guilt crash through me. I dropped my coffee mug, stood up so fast my chair scraped the floor, and hauled her straight out of her seat and into my arms.

"Jay, stop," I muttered roughly, wrapping my arms tightly around her waist and burying my face in her neck, squeezing her flush against my chest. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to—"

A bright, bubbly giggle erupted against my ear.

Her shoulders shook with pure laughter, her body completely relaxed and flexible in my grip.

"Gotcha!" she beamed, pulling back just enough to flash me a massive, triumphant grin. "I was joking! See? I knew that would make you talk to me."

I was staring down at her, my jaw clenching slightly as panic fades into pure exasperation)

"You think that's funny? I actually thought I seriously hurt you, Jay."

Jay Jay Grinning broadly, her fingers playfully tracing my jawline "Well, you wouldn't talk to me! You were sitting there acting all cold and brooding, pretending you couldn't hear me saying sorry a million times."

My grip tightens on her waist, pulling her even closer against my chest "Because you deserved to squirm a little bit after last night. I was enjoying the pouting."

"I knew it! I saw your mouth twitch. You're a sadist, Keifer. But see? The drama worked. You're talking to me now, and you're hugging me."Jay Jay Giggling, resting her forehead against mine

Letting out a low, defeated sigh, my forehead resting against hers as my thumb strokes her hip "You're a menace. Don't ever joke about that again. My heart actually stopped."

"I won't, I promise. But you're not allowed to ignore me at breakfast either. Deal?"Her smile softens, her voice turning gentle and sincere.

A faint, genuine smile finally breaking through my stubborn expression "Deal. Now eat your food before it gets cold, my drama queen."
