Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

As she spoke, Suzy reached into her bag and calmly pulled out the two documents she had prepared beforehand.

The moment George saw them, his eyes brightened instantly.

The excitement surging through him was almost impossible to hide.

He forced himself to cough lightly, pretending to remain calm and dignified.

"Our Suzy really is thoughtful," he said with a smile. "Dad knew you were the most sensible child."

Before the words had even fully left his mouth, he had already grabbed the agreement impatiently.

His greedy gaze swept rapidly across the contents.

After skimming through the clauses and confirming there was nothing unusual, George wasted no time signing his name at the bottom.

He moved so quickly it was almost as though he feared Suzy might regret it if he delayed another second.

Once he finished, he immediately pushed the contract back toward her.

"Suzy, sign it too," he urged hurriedly. "Go on."

Suzy nodded obediently.

She picked up the pen, yet instead of signing immediately, she paused.

A conflicted expression appeared slowly on her pale face.

The moment George noticed her hesitation, his heart tightened.

"What's wrong now?" he asked quickly. "Everything's already settled. Just sign it."

Suzy lowered her eyes slightly and spoke in a soft voice.

"Dad… Sis… I've already agreed to give you everything you asked for."

She paused briefly before continuing.

"But recently, the doctor said I may need surgery soon, and the cost will be very high. Most of my money is tied up in investments right now, so I can't access it immediately…"

Her voice carried the perfect amount of hesitation and vulnerability.

"Could you lend me three million dollars first? Just enough to help me get through this emergency?"

George's brows immediately furrowed.

A trace of displeasure flashed through his eyes before he concealed it again.

"You don't have money?" he asked sharply. "Where did all your money go?"

Suzy answered innocently, "I just don't have enough available cash at the moment. And I still need to buy Tommy his car…"

She hesitated deliberately before adding softly, "If that's difficult, maybe we should just forget about the car for now—"

"No way!"

The moment Tommy heard the words sports car, he shot to his feet like a bomb going off.

"Dad, you already promised me!" he shouted furiously. "I have to get it! Whether she has money or not has nothing to do with me!"

He pointed angrily at Suzy as though she had personally ruined his entire life.

How could he possibly not get the car now?

He had already shown off to all his friends.

If the car didn't arrive, wouldn't he become a complete laughingstock?

Tommy's yelling instantly gave George a headache.

At the same time, he was terrified of upsetting Suzy before she signed the agreement.

After all, Suzy was only asking for three million.

Tommy's car alone would cost over five million.

And ultimately, that money would still come from Suzy's inheritance anyway.

Wendy, sitting nearby, was equally worried that George might push too hard and ruin everything before the transfer was complete.

So she quickly stepped in to smooth things over.

"Dad, we're family," Wendy said gently. "You should agree to Suzy's request. Health matters most, after all."

George caught the warning hidden in Wendy's expression and immediately calmed himself.

Compared to the enormous fortune he was about to obtain, three million dollars was insignificant.

He absolutely could not allow such a small issue to jeopardize the inheritance.

Nor could he give Suzy any reason to reconsider signing.

Almost instantly, his expression shifted into that of a kind and generous father.

"Enough, Tommy!" he scolded loudly. "Why are you shouting at your sister? She's thinking about the family too."

Then he turned toward Suzy, his tone warm and indulgent.

"Suzy, Dad knows you've always been a good and sensible girl. Let's do this—the car is one matter, but Dad will transfer three million to you separately first."

He even softened his voice further.

"Your health is the priority. If the money isn't enough, you can always tell Dad. Our family isn't lacking money."

Clearly worried that Suzy might bring up canceling the sports car again, George immediately pulled out his phone and transferred the money on the spot.

A few moments later, Suzy's phone chimed with a notification.

Three million dollars had been deposited into her account.

"Thank you, Dad," Suzy said gratefully, her face filled with appreciation.

Then, without another word, she signed the agreement decisively and handed it back to George.

He took the contract with unconcealed excitement, repeatedly reading over the signature as if afraid it might disappear.

Only when Wendy quietly tugged on his sleeve did George finally remember the bracelet.

He cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Ahem… Suzy," he said, trying to sound casual. "Didn't you also prepare the gold bracelet for your sister? Where is it?"

Suzy lowered her gaze slightly, hiding the cold mockery flashing through her eyes.

Then she reached into her bag once more and carefully removed a small red velvet box.

"Sis," she said obediently, offering it forward with a gentle smile. "This is for you."

Wendy's attention locked instantly onto the velvet box in Suzy's hands.

She accepted it eagerly and opened it without hesitation.

Inside lay a smooth golden bracelet, gleaming softly beneath the light.

The moment Wendy saw it, her eyes lit up completely.

This was the spatial artifact containing the spiritual spring.

Her greatest advantage in the apocalypse to come.

Her fingertips brushed lightly across the cool surface of the bracelet, and the excitement shining in her eyes was impossible to conceal.
