Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

After leaving George and Fiona's bedroom, Suzy headed straight for Wendy's room.

Over the years, Wendy had quietly taken plenty of Suzy's belongings.

Jewelry wasn't enough for her—she had even helped herself to Suzy's designer bags and expensive clothes.

Just as she had done earlier, Suzy calmly switched everything back piece by piece.

The entire process took less than ten minutes.

Only after finishing did the tightness in her chest finally ease.

When Suzy appeared at the top of the staircase again, her expression had already returned to its usual pale and delicate state.

Every trace of sharpness was hidden perfectly beneath that fragile appearance.

She descended the stairs slowly and happened to run straight into Tommy.

"Hurry up and eat already," he snapped impatiently.

Without waiting for a reply, he turned and walked ahead.

Suzy followed quietly behind him.

After a few steps, Tommy suddenly spoke again.

"The sports car I asked you to buy me—have you ordered it yet? I'm tired of waiting."

Recently, Tommy had become obsessed with a luxury sports car worth five million dollars.

He had been making endless demands about it.

George, knowing Suzy had money, naturally shifted the burden onto her.

Using Tommy's acceptance into college as an excuse, he persuaded Suzy to "reward" him.

Of course, George had phrased it nicely.

He claimed his finances were tight lately and said he couldn't afford the car himself for the moment.

He would "borrow" the money from Suzy first, buy the car for Tommy, and repay her once his cash flow stabilized.

And in the dream, Suzy had actually believed him.

Even now, she still couldn't understand how the version of herself from the dream had trusted George Kale so blindly, almost as though she'd been placed under some kind of spell.

Only after waking from that nightmare did it finally feel like her mind had cleared.

"Not yet," Suzy answered calmly.

Tommy immediately frowned.

Then, as if his demands were completely reasonable, he casually added, "Forget the old one, then. A newer model just came out. Add another five hundred thousand and buy me the latest version instead."

"Alright," Suzy replied without hesitation.

Tommy looked satisfied at once.

Suzy smiled faintly as well.

Sure. The day I actually buy him a car is the day I start chewing my own hair for fun.

She understood Tommy's personality far too well.

He had an explosive temper and would lash out the moment things stopped going his way.

If he caused a scene now, George and Wendy would immediately notice something was different about her.

Suzy had no intention of provoking conflict inside the Kale household.

If things escalated, leaving the villa smoothly afterward might become difficult.

More importantly, she didn't want Wendy to realize that she still remembered the dream—or that her spatial dimension had already awakened.

If the female lead discovered that, the situation would become far more troublesome.

The two of them soon entered the dining room.

Fiona had already finished preparing lunch and warmly called Suzy over to sit down.

This time, eager to please her, Fiona had clearly gone to considerable effort.

Every dish on the table was something Suzy liked.

The moment Suzy sat down, George immediately began placing food onto her plate with exaggerated enthusiasm, repeatedly urging her to eat more.

Yet while talking, his eyes kept drifting toward her bag.

It was obvious he wanted to bring up the transfer agreement immediately, but he was trying hard not to appear too impatient.

So he waited for Suzy to mention it herself.

But Suzy acted as though she noticed nothing at all.

In the past, she would have understood his intentions instantly and offered the documents on her own.

This time, however, she remained perfectly calm.

The longer she stayed silent, the more anxious George became.

In the end, Wendy was the first to speak.

"Suzy, my birthday is coming up soon," she said with a bright smile. "I'm planning to hold a party. You'll come, right?"

Suzy merely nodded lightly without saying much.

Wendy continued smoothly, "So… have you thought about what birthday gift you're giving me this year?"

She even winked playfully.

The sight nearly made Suzy lose her appetite.

Right on cue, George joined the conversation naturally.

"Suzy already prepared something for you," he said with a smile. "Haven't you always liked her gold bracelet? She's planning to give it to you as your birthday present this year."

Suzy lowered her gaze obediently.

"Yes, Sis. I brought it with me."

Seeing Suzy so compliant, Wendy's eyes flashed briefly with smug satisfaction and hidden contempt.

That pathetic little fool probably still doesn't realize the bracelet contains a spatial dimension.

At last, the meal finally came to an end beneath layers of fake warmth and carefully concealed intentions.

Suzy gently set down her chopsticks before dabbing the corner of her lips with a napkin.

Then she lifted her eyes slowly.

Clear and soft, carrying exactly the right amount of hesitation and timidity.

"Dad… Sis…" she said quietly.

"Everything you wanted is already in my bag."
