The boss monster grew furious after being restricted by the ground. It tried to break free and unleashed a roar of fire and molten lava to teach the humans a lesson.
However, the monster suddenly stopped moving. The urge to escape vanished. With its limited intelligence, it simply stared at the sky, no longer showing any intention to attack.
Ezekiel grinned.
A loud boom echoed across the dungeon. The boss monster died in front of him. Its body was torn apart as if it had been blown up by a massive explosion.
At least, that was how it appeared to Kael.
Then everything fell silent.
Kael began to analyze what had happened.
During the entire fight, Ezekiel had never left his side. Yet the boss monster had approached Ezekiel on its own and fought him directly.
Why?
Is his ability related to making monsters seek him out instead of hunting them himself? Is that how he defeated the boss so easily?
Kael felt a warm hand touch his head. The hand grasped the mask and slowly removed it. Kael narrowed his eyes as the bright light above momentarily blinded him.
When his vision cleared, he looked around and froze in shock.
It was not only the boss monster that Ezekiel had attracted. Every monster in the dungeon lay dead around them.
Kael examined the monster profiles and frowned deeply.
"Two bosses?"
Ezekiel heard him and looked over.
"Strange, right?" Ezekiel said. "Based on the number of monsters and the mana level of the boss, this dungeon should have been either C or B grade. However, another boss monster appeared in the same dungeon. That increased the total mana level here, which is why I classified it as A grade."
Kael silently agreed.
Ezekiel was not wrong.
Never in history had a dungeon contained two bosses. The monster profile information did not lie.
The boss Ezekiel had just defeated carried the title Dungeon Boss. The other monster, now reduced to only its massive head and half body part, also carried the title Dungeon Boss.
In other words, one dungeon contained two dungeon bosses. That fact alone should not have been possible.
Kael had a bad feeling that the other four dungeons that recently appeared are also like this.
Ezekiel clicked his tongue. "I hope I'm wrong, but I think the other four dungeons might also have two dungeon bosses like this."
Kael: "...."
He neither agreed nor disagreed.
After a dungeon boss was defeated, the dungeon remained open for four hours. Hunters used that time to gather treasures, loot, and valuable materials that could be used for crafting weapons or sold for profit.
Kael had no intention of missing this opportunity.
Perhaps he could gather some valuable items and give them to that noisy Guild Master so he could take a few more days off.
He turned his back on Ezekiel and walked toward the pile of monster corpses.
Ezekiel blinked in surprise. "Hey, where are you going?"
Kael stopped. He glanced down at the hand gripping his wrist, then looked up at Ezekiel.
"I'm collecting loot. I cannot waste time. You should do the same."
Kael calmly pulled his wrist free and continued walking.
He did not bother to look at Ezekiel's living weapon or wait to see if Ezekiel would reply.
Kael had a personality where, once his curiosity was satisfied, he quickly lost interest.
He knelt beside the second boss monster and began examining its corpse.
The creature was enormous, as large as two cities combined. It had the head of a dragon, the body of a snake, and strange scales covering its body.
Its bright red color made it stand out against the barren land.
Kael reached out and pulled off one of its scales.
A holographic panel appeared in front of him.
[Dragon fish scale]
[Grade: A]
[Effect: Carrying this scale grants resistance to fire. Fire magic cannot harm you. Fire type monsters will also be unable to damage you. Even if you fall into molten lava, you will be able to survive and swim through it.]
Kael knew Ezekiel was watching his every move. He was certain Ezekiel could also see the information on the screen.
Still, Kael calmly stored the scale in his inventory.
He continued removing parts from the monster's body. Each time he confirmed that an item was high grade and useful, he kept it.
He stopped only after collecting seven valuable body parts.
When Ezekiel saw him stop searching, he scoffed.
"Are you satisfied with just that? You can still take more."
Ezekiel only said these words to make fun of this hunter.
Most hunters who entered dungeons with him would hesitate to take the loot after the boss died. Out of respect, they would leave the valuable items to him since he was both a high ranking hunter and the one who killed the boss.
This is the first time he met a hunter who was unscrupulous.
This man had no shame in taking valuable high grade items.
Ezekiel was about to say more, but suddenly stopped.
He watched Kael crouch down again and start collecting even more valuable body parts.
What the...
This guy really has no shame.
Does he not recognize sarcasm?
Ezekiel struggled to hold back his laughter. He was not angry. He was amused.
He simply watched as Kael collected another five A and B grade items from the second boss monster before moving on to gather materials from the other monsters.
When Kael was finally satisfied, he stopped and gave Ezekiel a small bow.
Without saying another word, he turned around and left through the dungeon gate.
"Wow," Ezekiel muttered, shaking his head. "That guy is something else."
He waited for a few minutes before another person entered through the dungeon gate.
"I just saw the other hunter leave," the newcomer said. "Are you done clearing the dungeon?"
Jason is still in his business clothes. He appeared out of place especially his eyeglasses and suitcase. Considering that everything that surrounded them are dead corpses.
