Three days passed.
And Kyle did not leave.
Hazel discovered that in the most unsettling way.
She was stepping out of Smith Company with Ryan beside her when Bella stiffened.
"He's here again."
Across the street—
leaning against a black sedan—
Kyle.
Watching.
Waiting.
Ryan's jaw hardened instantly.
"What does he want now?"
Hazel whispered.
But she already knew.
Obsession.
Kyle stepped forward.
This time not frantic.
Not broken.
Calmer.
More dangerous because of it.
"Hazel."
Ryan moved in front of her.
Kyle laughed bitterly.
"You hide behind him now?"
Ryan's eyes flashed.
"I suggest you leave before I forget I'm in the human world."
Kyle ignored him.
His eyes never left Hazel.
"I'm not here to fight."
Hazel crossed her arms.
"Then why are you here?"
Kyle took a breath.
"Because I can't sleep."
His voice was raw.
"I see you everywhere."
Bella muttered under her breath,
"Madness."
But Kyle continued.
"I wake up thinking of you."
"I walk past places and expect to find you."
"And every time I remember you belong to him…"
His stare shifted briefly to Ryan.
"…it feels like dying."
Hazel's expression softened—
but only with pity.
Not love.
Ryan noticed.
And hated it.
Kyle reached into his coat.
Ryan tensed violently.
But Kyle only pulled out an envelope.
Hazel frowned.
"What is that?"
"Everything I own."
Ryan blinked.
Kyle extended it toward her.
"The contracts."
"The shares."
"My estate."
"My holdings."
Hazel stared.
Kyle's voice shook.
"I'll give up everything."
"If you come back."
Silence.
Even Bella looked stunned.
Ryan slowly smiled—
but it was not a pleasant smile.
It was lethal.
"You insult her."
Kyle frowned.
Ryan stepped closer.
"You think she can be bought back with paper?"
His voice dropped.
"Careful."
Ralph was near the surface.
Hazel touched Ryan's arm gently.
Stopping him.
Then she looked at Kyle.
Really looked at him.
And spoke.
Softly.
Painfully.
"You would surrender kingdoms now…"
"…but when I needed one hand reaching for me…"
She shook her head.
"You let me fall."
Kyle's face crumpled.
Hazel continued—
"Love is not desperation after loss."
"It is loyalty before loss."
Bella quietly wiped a tear.
Even Klara, who had arrived with Liam moments before, went still.
Kyle whispered—
"So there's nothing left?"
Hazel looked at Ryan.
Then back at Kyle.
"There was once."
Her voice almost broke.
"But you buried it."
Those words struck harder than hatred ever could.
Kyle lowered the envelope.
His hand trembled.
Ryan wrapped an arm around Hazel.
Not possessive this time.
Supportive.
Kyle noticed.
And perhaps for the first time understood the difference.
Still…
he wasn't done.
His expression shifted.
Something calculating resurfaced.
"If I can't reach your heart…"
He looked toward the towering Smith building.
"…perhaps I reach your world."
Ryan's eyes narrowed.
Danger.
Hazel felt it too.
"What does that mean?"
Kyle only smiled sadly.
"You'll see."
Then he walked away.
And every instinct in Ryan roared.
Bella cursed.
"Oh no."
Liam muttered—
"He's planning something."
Ryan turned to Nick immediately.
"Double security at Smith and Malone."
"To everyone."
Nick nodded.
Already moving.
Hazel looked shaken.
Ryan cupped her face.
"He won't touch you."
She whispered—
"But he may try touch everything around me."
Ryan's voice turned iron.
"Then he'll learn what happens when someone threatens what is mine."
His eyes glowed faintly—
Ralph stirring.
And far down the street—
Kyle paused once more.
Looking back.
Not as a begging man.
But as one beginning a war.
And Hazel realized—
the heartbreak was over.
Now came obsession.
And obsession could become dangerous.
