Chapter 16 - An Unexpected Appearance

Chapter Six

Season Two – Part One

Beginning

Location: The Capital

Kaith (in a calm voice, yet carrying a heavy weight beneath it, with a hint of dry humor):

"Alia… I don't know anything about you, even though you seem to know so much about me. Isn't that a bit unfair?"

Alia (frowning slightly in confusion):

"Kaith… do I even know your past? I barely know anything about you."

Kaith (smirking with bitter sarcasm):

"And how would you know anything… when even I don't know it myself? Isn't that funny?"

Alia (clearly concerned):

"What do you mean, Kaith?!"

Kaith (looking down, his voice lowering):

"My uncle… sealed my memories when I was fifteen."

Alia (taking a step back, shocked):

"What?! Why?!"

Kaith (coldly, hiding something deeper):

"As far as I know… I wasn't this kind person.

I was… the complete opposite."

Alia (softly, as if connecting the dots):

"That… explains a lot, Kaith…"

Silence settled between them for a moment.

As Kaith and Alia walked through the warm, peaceful air…

Kaith suddenly noticed something in the distance.

A few heavy… suffocating seconds passed.

Then—

Kaith (sharply, turning instantly):

"Alia… run!"

Alia (confused):

"What? Why?!"

Kaith (low, dangerous voice):

"There's a bastard here… he's going to kill us."

A figure appeared.

Golden hair. Golden eyes.

Four golden horns.

A black scarf flowing behind him.

Kaith (tense, for the first time):

"Alia, don't even think about stopping!"

Alia:

"Kaith… what's wrong with you?!"

??????? (with a cold smile, his voice dripping with disdain):

"You little rat… thinking of running away?

From your uncle… or should I say, your former teacher?"

Kaith froze for a brief moment.

Kaith (with suppressed rage):

"You mean… the one who tried to kill me? That wasn't training."

???????:

"It's not my fault you're too weak, child."

Kaith:

"What are you even talking about? Even your own son couldn't endure your training, you disgusting instructor…

Or should I just call you—

Uncle Gilgamesh."

Gilgamesh (sharply):

"Who gave you permission to speak during training?"

Kaith (with a mocking, angry smile):

"This isn't training. I'm literally running away from you."

Gilgamesh (coldly):

"No… you were just talking too much."

Kaith (with clear disdain):

"You're… power without a brain."

Alia (whispering nervously):

"Kaith… who is this?"

Gilgamesh (glancing at her with indifference):

"Should I let you go, Kaith?

You've already sentenced yourself to death.

You ran from training a year ago…

and now you're standing here with a girl?

It seems my brother 'Aztheron' was too lenient with you."

Kaith (speaking quickly):

(looks at Gilgamesh)

"Don't talk about me like that, you bastard."

(then turns to Alia)

"We need to run!"

Kaith dashes at full speed—

But—

A powerful hand suddenly grabs him by the horn.

Gilgamesh (laughing mockingly):

"Do you really think you're even close to my speed?

You're pathetic… nephew."

Kaith (struggling):

"Why did you leave your kingdom?"

Gilgamesh (with a sly smile):

"I came… to take you with me to the Agrest Empire."

Kaith (firmly):

"And you know I'll refuse."

Gilgamesh (leaning closer):

"And who said… I was asking?"

Kaith (smiling defiantly):

"Then… try to take me."

Gilgamesh:

"Are you sure?"

Kaith:

"Absolutely."

The Battle

One look from Gilgamesh—

Then the fight explodes.

Kaith charges forward, summoning the Blade of Light – Aztheron,

his black flames erupting violently.

Gilgamesh (slightly impressed):

"You've truly grown stronger… Kaith."

He unleashes massive white flames toward him—

Kaith (angrily):

"You won't defeat me so easily… Uncle!"

They clash—

Speed, power, and overwhelming pressure.

Kaith unleashes everything:

"Blade… Army of Shadows!"

An army of shadows surges forward—

But—

Gilgamesh destroys them effortlessly.

The atmosphere suddenly shifts…

His eyes turn black,

a glowing yellow dragon pupil forming.

A terrifying smile.

In an instant—

He grabs Kaith by the neck,

launches him into the air—

Then—

Slams him into the ground violently.

Kaith spits blood.

But Gilgamesh… doesn't stop.

A barrage of crushing blows rains down on him.

Kaith (determined, rising again):

"I won't… fall! Not this easily, Gilgamesh!"

Kaith leaps—

And cuts off Gilgamesh's arm.

Gilgamesh regenerates it instantly.

Then… steps back.

Kaith (panting, yet smiling):

"I told you… I've gotten stronger."

But suddenly—

Everything fades.

The world collapses.

The illusion ends.

Kaith regains awareness—

his body completely broken.

Kaith (eyes wide in shock):

"What…?!"

Gilgamesh begins laughing.

Then he releases an overwhelming pressure onto Kaith.

Gilgamesh (coldly):

"Impressive…

You endured just 2% of my power.

Perhaps… you've truly grown stronger."

In an instant—

Gilgamesh moves—

and strikes Kaith directly in the stomach.

Then—

Kaith collapses, motionless.

Gilgamesh (with disdain):

"He's strong… for a human.

But pathetically weak… for a dragon."

(sighs)

"How will he face the fourth shard?

I'd need 30% of my power to defeat it…"

(pauses)

"As for the sixth shard…

that girl… I can't defeat her."

(smiles faintly)

"She truly deserves… to be called the Sixth Shard."

Alia (extremely worried):

"Excuse me… but is Kaith okay, uncle?"

Gilgamesh (coldly):

"Don't worry…

he's half-dragon after all."

Suddenly—

The air trembles.

A heavy presence appears.

Reinhardt emerges.

Reinhardt (calm, yet commanding):

"Gilgamesh… I told you not to rush."

Gilgamesh (staring sharply):

"Do you want him to die?

You know the power of the shards."

Alia (shocked):

"Reinhardt?! Why are you here?!"

Gilgamesh (staring at him):

"Reinhardt?! So you didn't tell him that you—"

Suddenly—

Reinhardt covers Gilgamesh's mouth, stopping him.

Reinhardt (low, dangerous voice):

"Idiot…

they don't know my identity."

Gilgamesh (pushing him away, annoyed):

"Fine… just stay out of my way."

Reinhardt (looking at Kaith lying on the ground, then sighing):

"From now on…"

(a deadly calm tone)

"I… will train Kaith."
