Chapter 11 - I Do Not Deserve Anything

Chapter One

Season Two

Part One

Beginning of the Chapter

The location was outside the battlefield where Kaith and Iris had fought.

Kaith lay against a cold stone, barely able to support himself. He was in severe pain — not only the pain of his wounds, but the pain of loss. He had lost his family once again. His pain was not one that manifested through tears; fire was part of his very being, and any tears he shed evaporated the moment they formed. He looked up at the sky… then lowered his head once more.

Snow began to fall.

As the snow slowly started to cover him, Kaith spoke weakly, his voice heavy with exhaustion and resignation:

Kaith (in pain): "It's snowing… so this is truly my end. Perhaps the next attempt will be better."

Then he heard a voice filled with concern:

????: "You look exhausted… are you alright?"

The person extended a hand toward him and said:

????: "What is your name? But before that, we should leave. The weather is getting worse."

Kaith lifted his head and saw a girl with blonde hair, green eyes, and pale skin. She was exceptionally beautiful.

Kaith (in confusion): "Do I look like someone who's alright?"

????: "No. You definitely don't."

Kaith: "Do you know who I am? If you did… you would run away."

????: "And who would you be? A demon? Or a catastrophe? It doesn't matter to me."

Kaith: "To you… I'm worse than both."

????: "Who would you be? Kaith Aztherion, perhaps?"

Kaith: "I suppose you just answered my question. You really wouldn't want to help me."

????: "Wait. I only said that because the people here hate you. I wouldn't mind helping you, even if you were Aztherion himself, in flesh and blood."

Kaith (shocked): "What…? Who the hell are you?"

Alia: "My name is Alia, and I consider myself—"

She paused briefly, then asked nervously:

Alia: "Wait… did you say you're Kaith Aztherion? The same one who killed the First Summoning Fragment?"

Kaith forced himself to stand, his body trembling, then replied with a faint, mocking smile:

Kaith: "What's so strange about that?"

Inside Alia's mind:

It really is him. This is Kaith.

Alia (with forced calm): "Nothing. I'm just surprised that the same person is lying here… injured."

Kaith: "Stop bothering me."

Alia: "Am I bothering you?"

Kaith: "That's not something you need to ask."

Alia (angry): "Are you sure you're the son of a king?!"

Kaith (arrogantly): "And what of it?"

Alia (angrily): "Because you have no manners! How can you call someone as beautiful as me annoying?!"

Kaith (sharply): "I'll repeat myself. You're annoying. Extremely annoying. And I warn you — I'm not someone you can joke with."

Alia: "You were lying on the ground seconds ago. Don't act so mighty."

Kaith: "I'm sorry. You're not just annoying… you're the Queen of Annoyance."

Alia: "You're surprisingly patient. I thought you'd try to kill me by now."

Kaith: "I would have. But you're not weak… and you saved me."

Alia (pretending confidence): "You really are a smart fighter. But let me be clear — I met you by coincidence. I wasn't looking for you."

Kaith (teasing, unlike his usual self): "What an incredible coincidence. A strong girl appearing at the exact place where I was fighting my brother… purely by chance. Is that even possible?"

Alia (irritated): "I said I didn't know."

Kaith: "Strange. It was snowing moments ago… and now the air feels warm."

Alia: "That's true."

Kaith smiled faintly — a rare, genuine smile.

Kaith: "Thank you, Alia. I was in pain… but you made me laugh again."

Alia: "You don't need to thank me."

Kaith: "Do you belong to a team?"

Alia: "No. Why?"

Kaith: "Will you join my team?"

Alia (surprised): "What is your team's goal?"

Kaith: "To crush the remaining fragments… and summon the Outer Ruler."

Alia (nervous): "What?! That's… incredibly dangerous… but…"

Silence lingered between them for a few seconds.

Then, slowly… Alia agreed to join him.

Kaith: "It might snow again. Let's return to the city."

Alia: "You're right, Kaith."

Snow continued to fall behind them, quietly burying the traces of the battle… and the pain that still lived inside him.
