"Looking after you, duh," Caius said, his eyebrow twitching violently with irritation. He let go of my hand so quickly as though my touch had burned him. "Why, were you disappointed that it wasn't your precious Healer Felix showing up to kiss you awake?"
"So what if I am?" I tilted my head back challengingly, ignoring how it made my muscles wince. "Since you have your precious Yvette to keep you company, I might as well find someone of my own, too."
Caius's face darkened. "I sent Yvette away. She's resting back at her own home. Besides, I have some questions I want to ask you."
I snorted quietly. "Ask away then. It's not like I can go anywhere else."
Just as I had expected, he didn't pull any punches.
'But he still sat with us until we woke up. He used the mate bond to strengthen me.' My wolf sighed dreamily. 'He does love us.'
