[CAIUS POV]
"Someone carry Iris to the infirmary," I ordered, tearing my eyes away from Iris's unconscious body.
'You actually hit her!' Atlas was enraged, snarling and snapping at me. 'How could you do such a thing?! Don't you know how much pain she was in?'
I had a pretty good idea, since I felt it too. I knew better than anyone else. Every blow I inflicted on Iris caused me to feel a phantom ache ricocheting through my body, as though I was hitting myself.
Thankfully, I had enough experience with fights and injuries that I could pretend that I wasn't wounded on the inside.
I forced myself to straighten, looking every inch the cavalier warrior who was insulted that he wasted his time on an unworthy opponent as I strode away from Iris to stand in front of my father.
My father narrowed his eyes at me, and I kept my breathing even. He then turned to look at Iris's body lying still on the floor and let out a little huff.
He ordered, "Caius, resume training."
