Healer Felix had returned with Iris in his arms, with his lab coat wrapped around her. Every pack member who had been out and about had gotten an eyeful of that unusual sight, and gossip was running rife in the pack link as everyone reported what they claimed they saw.
And with every report, Caius's face grew more frightening as jealousy reared its ugly head. I could tell he wanted nothing more than to go outside and confront him, but he stayed put, believing that Healer Felix would eventually bring Iris back into the infirmary for her checkup.
Inwardly, I smirked. Healer Felix was making it too easy for me to dispose of him. Since he was a healer, I was barred from using physical force on him. But there were many other ways to make his life difficult, ranging from removing his privileges to exiling him.
I was almost disappointed at how things turned out, but I suppose prolonged exposure to Iris would make anyone stupid.
