Goku continued teaching Axiom how to fight properly, impressed by how quickly he adapted. Deciding that was enough for now, Goku moved on to ki control.
"Okay, let's move on to ki. You know how you fly, right?" Goku asked.
"Yeah. I propel myself with my ki," Axiom replied. "But I'd like to know why my ki blast during our fight charged so slowly."
"I'm not sure. I've never seen that happen before," Goku admitted. "But I think King Kai would know."
King Kai, who had been lounging nearby, immediately shot upright, looking outraged that Goku would even suggest it.
"Absolutely not, Goku! We don't know where he's from, and his ki feels evil. Ki does not lie. I'm not teaching him."
Goku looked disappointed but didn't give up. "You don't have to teach him. Just… give him a pointer. Please?"
"Hoo… fine!" King Kai huffed. "His ki just isn't used to moving, that's all. Which is strange, since that usually only happens with newborn babies."
Axiom went silent for a moment before sighing. There was little point in hiding his age from people he intended to gain the trust of.
"I am a newborn."
Both Goku and King Kai stared at him in shock. They hadn't expected that—not from someone already as tall as Frieza.
"Really?!" they exclaimed in unison.
"So that's why you were so bad at fighting!" Goku blurted out.
Axiom simply nodded.
King Kai cleared his throat. "Well… that certainly explains your ties to that lineage," he said pointedly, clearly referring to Frieza's race.
"So all I need to do is keep using my ki until it moves more naturally?" Axiom asked. "How long will that take?"
King Kai thought it over. "Well, considering you can already fly and form ki blasts… I'd say about a full day of constant ki usage should do it."
Axiom nodded and immediately lifted off the ground, hovering steadily.
"Then I'll just fly for a day."
Goku, who had been listening in fascination, suddenly spoke up. "Wouldn't firing ki blasts work too?"
Axiom gave him a flat look. "And aim them where? I don't know where this place is, and I'd rather not discover whether it's dangerous."
"Oh! Right, I never told you. My bad. This is Other World," Goku said, having completely forgotten to mention it.
"…Other World? As in the afterlife?" Axiom asked, surprised. The fact that Goku had free access to the afterlife made befriending him seem even more advantageous.
"Yeah! There was this whole thing with my brother. I died, ended up here, and met King Kai," Goku explained casually.
"Ra—" Axiom stopped himself before finishing Raditz's name. "Your brother? You have one?"
He avoided King Kai's sharp gaze, knowing the slight slip hadn't gone unnoticed.
"Yeah. He was a really bad guy. Tried to force me to kill a bunch of people," Goku said plainly. "But Piccolo didn't like him either, so we teamed up. We fought Raditz—my brother—and eventually killed him. I sacrificed myself in the process."
King Kai rubbed his chin thoughtfully before calling out, "Hey, Goku. Come here."
Goku walked over. "Uh-huh? What is it?"
King Kai leaned in and whispered, "How would a newborn know you're a Super Saiyan before you mentioned it?"
Goku paused for a moment, then shrugged.
"He probably heard it somewhere. Don't be so paranoid."
Goku patted King Kai on the back and walked away, leaving King Kai staring after him in frustration as his warning was completely brushed aside.
