What's the saying? Monkey see, monkey do.
In today's conference room, it was "monkey eat, monkey do."
Unlike other foods, the milk mochi had a scent, but it was too gentle and mild. It didn't look like the kind of thing these burly men would enjoy. So at first, barely anyone fought for a serving. Out of the forty thousand people, maybe only a hundred or two snagged some because they were closeted Ju people.
Once they got it, they dug right in! Since everyone's terminals were connected to the main screen, the terminal data was shared, allowing them to see each other eating the virtual food.
For instance, a soldier sitting next to a Ju person watched his neighbor eat this gooey stuff. The neighbor's face lit up brilliantly, his eyes sparkling as if he had just seen his long-lost girlfriend.
He grew curious.
"Hey, is it really that good?"
"Yeah," the man answered without hesitation. "It's so sweet."
"...Sweet?"
"Sweet like sweet-flavored Nutrient Liquid?"
