Although Marcus Monroe wasn't entirely at ease about the situation in Southreach, for now, it was better to wait and see than to act rashly. He simply ordered his subordinates to stay alert, gather intelligence from all sources, report back promptly, and maintain a constant watch.
He had far more pressing matters to attend to back at the base.
During the time he was away, the base had gained quite a few people. All in all, the total count was over five hundred.
This number wasn't huge, but it wasn't small either.
More people meant more problems. Furthermore, it was impossible to know everyone's background, so having everyone live together in the residential area like before was no longer appropriate.
Besides, the base also needed recreational areas. People couldn't just work all day, go home, and fall straight to sleep...
