To Shen Nian's surprise, they arrived at the police station very quickly.
As luck would have it, the officer who greeted them was one of the same officers who had handled the Qin Xueling incident when Shen Nian reported it.
"Shen, what brings you here?"
The officer clearly remembered Shen Nian, greeting her with a smile the moment he saw her.
"Officer Li, we came to ask about the status of the case against Qin Xueling and the others."
Shen Nian remembered that the officer's surname was Li and immediately explained the reason for their visit.
Officer Li nodded. The previous incident had a significant impact on Shen Nian, so it was only natural that she'd want to follow up.
"And this is?"
Officer Li hadn't missed Shen Nian's use of the word "we." It clearly referred to herself and the man beside her. However, this man hadn't been present when the incident occurred.
"He's my husband. He was working out of town and just came back on leave."
