The more Nana thought about it, the more unsettled she became.
She quickly called Miles. The phone rang and rang until it automatically disconnected.
Nana's brows furrowed as she called again, but the result was the same—no answer.
"What happened?" Connor asked anxiously.
Nana shook her head in anguish. "He didn't pick up."
"He just sent divorce papers without saying anything?" Connor looked displeased. 'He was still counting on Miles to raise his son for him, how could they get a divorce?'
Nana's face was ghostly pale, her voice choked with tears. "He just sent me a text telling me to go to my parents' house tomorrow."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Connor looked puzzled.
"I don't know." Nana's heart was racing. "Is he going to tell my parents about us? They're getting old, and their health isn't great. They definitely couldn't handle a shock like this."
"I don't think Miles actually wants to divorce you," Connor mused.
