"You two... really broke up?"
Upstairs in the company building, Mia Grant stood by the window, watching the Bentley down below that still hadn't left. Her expression was as grim as the overcast sky.
"Yeah." Snapping out of her thoughts, she replied faintly before turning to sit back down at her desk.
The person who had just asked was her old roommate from college.
It was only after she started working here that she discovered her old friend worked here too.
Soon, her old roommate sat down in the seat next to her. She studied Mia's expression and said, "So, did you have a fight?"
"It looks like you were the one who broke up with him, but he must have done something really out of line."
"Here, this is your breakfast. He asked me to bring it up for you just now."
"We didn't fight." Mia Grant took the can of soy milk her friend handed her and took a few sips. She seemed to calm down. "It was just something I said out of anger."
Her roommate smiled. "I knew it."
