Finn Hawthorne arrived quickly.
Somehow, he had convinced his older brother and was now knocking directly on Faye Vaughn's door.
"Why are you so listless?" The moment the door opened, Finn Hawthorne noticed something was off about Faye Vaughn.
"It's nothing now," Faye Vaughn said, shaking her head. She touched her forehead with the back of her hand. The fever hadn't returned; she must be better.
Finn Hawthorne saw her gesture and understood immediately. His handsome brows furrowed as he reached out to touch her forehead. "You had a fever? What happened?"
Faye Vaughn told him the truth. "I found Liam Linden earlier."
Finn Hawthorne was startled and looked her up and down. "Did he hurt you? Are you injured?"
Faye Vaughn couldn't help but smile. "Don't panic just yet. Let me finish."
Seeing she was only a bit lethargic and otherwise fine, Finn Hawthorne breathed a sigh of relief. "Go on, then. How did that damned Liam Linden give you a fever? Where is he now?"
