Upon hearing this, Celeste Grant couldn't help but roll her eyes at him. "You've got some nerve. Didn't you say you'd come find me as soon as you'd handled things? How long has it been? I haven't seen a trace of you."
As she spoke, she aimed the view of the mirror at her large, pregnant belly.
She gently caressed her stomach and looked up at him. "Look at me," she said. "The baby will be born any day now. If you don't come soon, you're going to miss our daughter's birth."
Her words landed clearly in Javier Sinclair's ears.
His gaze fell on Celeste Grant's round belly, and he froze for a moment. He reached out a hand, touching her stomach through the void. He could already feel the baby moving inside her. "The baby's moving." Even though this wasn't his first time becoming a father, the sensation made his hand pause, and an irrepressible smile touched his lips.
