They sensed Celeste Grant's presence and, in unison, looked up at the sky.
"Celeste."
"It's Celeste."
The two spoke at the same time. Hearing each other's voice, they exchanged a look of mutual disgust. One of the Javier Sinclairs sneered and said, "Celeste is looking at me."
As soon as he finished, the other Javier Sinclair said dismissively, "She's obviously looking at me. Stop flattering yourself. Celeste loves me. What does that have to do with a substitute like you?"
The one called a substitute shot him a glance. "What do you mean, 'what does it have to do with you'? Celeste is pregnant with my child right now." His voice was laced with worry as he said this.
The other Javier Sinclair immediately retorted, "We've been dormant for a long time. Who knows how Celeste is doing now? Are she and the baby okay? Damn it, this is all your fault. If anything happens to Celeste, I'll kill you."
