Chapter 77 - CHAPTER 77: He's Different

KAYLA'S POV (Continuing):

A voice suddenly cut in from the side.

"You're saying that?"

I turned my head sharply.

Atasha stood there with her arms crossed, a smug expression on her face like she'd just found the perfect opportunity to be annoying.

Wrong move.

"I didn't ask you."

My tone dropped.

Deadly calm.

My eyes locked onto hers.

That was all it took.

Atasha's mouth snapped shut instantly, her confidence evaporating so fast it was almost embarrassing.

Good.

I turned away from her like she no longer existed and grabbed Theo by the wrist before he could say something stupid.

"Come with me."

He resisted for half a second, his jaw tightening, but one look from me made him move.

I dragged him out of the cafeteria, leaving the whispers and chaos behind us.

I could still feel everyone staring.

Let them.

We walked down the hallway in silence, though Theo's anger practically radiated off him like heat. His wrist was tense in my grip, his breathing still uneven from the fight, and I could feel how badly he wanted to go back and finish whatever had started in there.

Not happening.

The moment we stepped back into the classroom, every student inside went silent.

All eyes turned toward us.

Theo looked like he'd been dragged out of a battlefield, bloody lip, messed up hair, shirt wrinkled, coffee stains still on his clothes, knuckles bruised.

And me?

I looked furious.

Which, honestly, should've terrified them more.

I let go of his wrist and turned to face him.

"What the hell was that, huh?"

Theo rolled his shoulders, looking irritated rather than guilty.

"You know those Section A douchebags," he said with a scoff. "They never miss an opportunity to bother us. I hate them."

I stared at him for a moment.

Then I folded my arms.

"Control your anger," I said coldly. "And save it for later."

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"If you want to fight," I continued, "do it outside. Not inside the school where everyone can see you making a scene."

He looked away, jaw clenched.

"And besides…" My gaze sharpened. "Why the hell would you pick a fight with a student council member?"

At that, Theo let out a low, bitter laugh.

"They're all the same," he muttered. "Pathetic jerks."

"It doesn't matter who it is," I shot back. "You still don't start a public brawl in the cafeteria."

He looked at me, eyes dark with something that wasn't just anger anymore.

"He doesn't look like he's like them," I added, more to myself than to him. "Hari."
