Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Hidden Lanterns

The pier was quiet, the waves lapping softly against the wood. Cancer and Scorpio stood together, lantern light flickering around them. They had discovered that someone had shifted the lanterns during the storm, guiding the phantoms into Lumeria. It was no accident—it was betrayal.

Leo stormed into the square, his golden aura blazing. "Who moved the lanterns? Who lit the path for the phantoms?" His voice carried like thunder.

Aries crossed his arms, fire sparking in his eyes. "You shout, but shouting won't find the truth. We need proof."

Leo's gaze swept the circle. "Then let Cancer and Scorpio show us. They claim to lead the hunt—let them uncover the traitor."

Virgo stepped forward, her tone sharp. "Lanterns do not move themselves. Someone touched them. Cancer, Scorpio—search every corner, every handprint, every shadow."

Capricorn added, his voice steady. "Duty demands we uncover the truth. But beware—sometimes the truth wounds more than lies."

Cancer nodded, her heart heavy. "Then let us face the wounds together."

Sagittarius strummed his guitar, his melody restless. "Lanterns are symbols. They guide, they deceive. Perhaps the one who moved them wanted not destruction, but revelation."

Aquarius tilted his head, his gaze distant. "Or perhaps they wanted freedom—from the circle, from unity. Betrayal is not always malice. Sometimes it is escape."

Scorpio's eyes narrowed. "Escape or malice, it endangered us all. That is betrayal."

Libra's voice was calm, her presence balanced. "Do not hunt with anger. Hunt with clarity. If you accuse blindly, you will fracture the circle further."

Cancer's tears shimmered. "Then let us hunt with love. Even if the truth breaks us, love will mend us."

That night, Cancer and Scorpio searched the pier again. Scorpio's sharp eyes caught faint marks on the wood—scratches where lanterns had been dragged.

"Look," he said, pointing. "The lanterns were moved deliberately. Someone guided them here."

Cancer's heart tightened. "Then it was not chance. Someone lit the path."

Scorpio's voice was low, fierce. "The betrayal is real. And we will find who lit the lanterns."

The stars shimmered faintly, as if listening. The circle was fractured, suspicion spreading like cracks in stone. But at its heart, Cancer and Scorpio stood together—fragile, yet unyielding, determined to uncover the truth and prove that love could withstand even betrayal.
