"Good evening."
Wearing a strange helmet and a well-tailored suit, Shaw looked around, "Where is the telepathic mutant?"
The Red Devil looked around as well, "Doesn't seem to be here."
"Wonderful," Shaw took off his helmet, his hairstyle completely undisturbed, "I finally don't have to wear this ridiculous thing."
On the way here, he had been met by fully armed teams of agents and even taken an RPG hit, yet there wasn't so much as a tear in his clothes.
His ability to absorb energy let him walk through a hail of bullets while keeping his elegant bearing.
He looked around and smiled, "My name is Sebastian Shaw."
"I'm not here to hurt you."
Seemingly certain that victory was already in his hands, Shaw walked toward Raven and the others.
"Don't move!"
Someone shouted from outside the window. There was still one agent left.
Shaw made a gesture.
The Red Devil teleported behind the agent. His two daggers crossed, blood sprayed.
It was over.
Shaw handed his helmet to the long-haired man beside him and said with a smile, "My friends, a revolution is coming."
"When humanity finds out who you are and what you can do, every one of you will face a choice."
As Shaw pressed forward step by step, Raven and the others retreated nervously.
Only Alex was still drinking with ease.
Beside him, Caitlin whispered, "What are they saying? Why can't I understand?"
Bang!
A soft sound.
The Red Devil appeared behind them. One dagger rested against Alex's neck, the other against Caitlin's.
"Shh!"
"Don't talk."
The Red Devil flashed a grin.
Alex glanced at the dagger resting against his neck, and his expression darkened.
He didn't like having a gun pointed at him.
He also didn't like having a knife held to his neck.
Caitlin was startled as well and grabbed both of Alex's hands.
Alex looked up and smiled at the Red Devil, "Could you please move the knife away? You're frightening my friend."
The Red Devil whistled, "Didn't expect you to be a gentleman."
"And I hate gentlemen the most."
He pressed the knife against Alex's neck with more force.
Alex showed a bright smile.
Holding Caitlin's hand, he lightly flicked a finger.
Alex released a trace of energy, striking Caitlin's nerves and making her temporarily lose consciousness.
Meanwhile, Shaw paid no attention to the small interruption and continued.
"Will you become slaves?"
He looked at the black mutant, Darwin, "Or will you rise up and resist?"
"The choice is yours."
"But understand this. If you're not on our side, then by definition, you're our enemies."
"So you can stay."
"And fight those who hate and fear you."
"Or join us and live like kings."
Then he looked at Angel and added, "And queens."
Shaw held out his hand.
A moment later, Angel placed her hand in his.
Just then, he heard the long-haired man let out a quiet cry, "Red Devil."
Shaw turned to look.
A plainly dressed man had stood up. He looked like a truck driver or a plumber who fixed sewers, yet he had one hand around the Red Devil's neck, lifting him into the air.
Then brilliant golden light shone from his eyes.
Two golden beams pierced straight through the Red Devil's face.
With a slight turn of the man's head, the two golden beams sliced off the Red Devil's head.
Then, with a casual toss, the Red Devil, left with only half a face, flew out through the floor-to-ceiling window and landed on the grassy slope.
Silence.
A graveyard-like stillness.
Shaw's mouth opened slightly. He had never imagined that the Red Devil, one of his most capable subordinates, would die just like that.
'Who is that man?'
Raven and the others were equally stunned.
Just moments ago, they had seen the Red Devil slaughter a group of agents. Those fully armed agents had looked like children holding toys in front of him.
They hadn't even been able to touch a single hair on his head.
Dozens more had been carried into the sky by the Red Devil before being dropped to their deaths.
Yet this terrifying devil had just been killed by the seemingly ordinary Mr. John?
"Th-that's impossible."
The long-haired man, who could create tornadoes, glanced at Shaw.
Shaw's face darkened. Tonight he had done all this, killing people and setting off explosions, what was the purpose of putting on this show?
Naturally, it was to display his strength to these young mutants and win them over.
But now, it had all been ruined by an unknown man.
The man had killed the Red Devil with ease, as if mocking everything he had done, making it seem like he was nothing more than a circus clown.
Shaw immediately gestured to the long-haired man.
A small tornado instantly formed in the long-haired man's hand. He threw it toward Alex, and it rapidly grew larger before crashing toward him.
Alex shook his head and suddenly charged into the tornado.
Then a dull thud came from the other side of the tornado. No one knew what had happened.
Only after the tornado disappeared did they see that the long-haired man had already been reduced to pieces.
His head, limbs, bones, minced flesh, and blood were scattered all over the floor.
Mr. John himself was covered in blood. Pieces of flesh even clung to his shoulders and chest.
Alex frowned, looking disgusted.
Just now he had charged forward at the "First Cosmic Velocity." He hadn't even attacked. He had simply rammed into the long-haired man and blown him apart. [T/N: A-Train Style]
It seemed this mutant was extremely fragile. One hit had made his whole body come apart.
"How is this possible?"
Shaw was completely dumbfounded.
The strength and speed Alex had just displayed were nothing a human should possess.
Even for a mutant, such terrifying power shouldn't exist.
He was on a completely different level from mutants like them. Shaw wasn't confident he could absorb the power Alex had displayed in those two attacks.
He made his decision immediately.
He let go of Angel's hand, rushed through the floor-to-ceiling window, and sprinted toward the main entrance.
'Too terrifying!'
'That man is too terrifying!'
He couldn't clash with him.
At least, not until he was certain he could absorb his power.
With that thought in mind, Shaw dashed out through the main entrance in the blink of an eye.
Alex had no intention of chasing him down. He was covered in pieces of the long-haired man, and it disgusted him.
Raven's eyes lit up as she shouted, "Mr. John, you're amazing!"
Alex looked at the girl, the mutant girl who, if you had her, meant you had all the women in the world.
He spread his hands, "I don't see what's so amazing."
"Do any of you know where there's a bathroom?"
Everyone looked at each other.
In the end, Hank raised his hand, "I think I know where there's a bathroom."
Alex pointed at him, "Great. I need a shower. Also, help me get a change of clothes."
