Chapter 91 - Chapter 90: The third round continues

The matches for the final round of chunin exams continued.

The best match of all was unexpectedly Obito vs Raido Namashi as it was the closest match with no one sided winner.

Both the genins gave their all and showcased their skills which were mostly equal but Obito managed to cling victory thanks to his newly awakened Sharingan.

The fight had been long and exciting with both boys showing great determination and skill. They exchanged blows with taijutsu and basic ninjutsu, each one trying to outsmart the other.

Obito's Sharingan had given him the edge in the final moments, allowing him to predict and counter Raido's attacks perfectly.

As Shunsui saw Obito being equal in skills with Raido, he could not help but think about how in just a few years he would be able to control the nine tails, kill an Elite Anbu squad all to get to Kushina and then kill the Uchihas all by himself and then with Kabuto's help, he would start the fourth great shinobi war.

The growth that Obito would show in the coming time would be unreal. To barely win against a background character to playing the role in killing the main characters super powerful parents, now that was called serious character development.

As for why Shunsui had not done anything about Obito and preventing all these disasters, he believed that it was not the right time to get rid of Obito.

True he could have prevented all of the disasters by just letting Zabuza kill Obito and not saving him during the second round.

The nine tails attack would have been prevented and Kushina sama would not have to die.

But he was sure that Obito would not have died that easily. He had managed to see a couple Anbu there when he used one of his games and they became players in the game. So they would likely have jumped to save Obito.

Even then he was pretty sure Minato would have used some trickery teleportation trick to get his student out of danger.

Or maybe there was Madara and Zetsu lying in wait to have him saved.

But it was not the decision that made him save Obito the most. It was the fact that if for some reason Obito died then that would mean he would have royally fucked up the timeline and then he would have no idea what Madara's and Zetsu's next plan would be or who would become their pawn instead of Obito.

For him it was better to have a known threat rather than an unknown. He knew that he might regret it in future but he would have to live with that regret.

Anyways, Genma vs Kisame went as Shunsui expected. While Genma managed to pierce Kisame's skin with his chakra enhanced senbons coated in poison, it turned out that poison was not that effective in Kisame due to him being a shark?

Genma swiftly gave up after that. The match had been short but showed Kisame's incredible durability and strength.

Genma too managed to show his skills which were pretty good for a genin. He also showed his decision making skills by giving up at the right time when he figured out that he was out matched by his opponent.

Rin vs Kurenai was a cat fight between two girls and it turned out Rin who was primarily an iryo nin was the one to be knocked out.

It was a cat fight that a lot of teenagers in the crowd enjoyed. At least it was a better fight than the future Sakura vs Ino fight according to Shunsui.

At least these two knew jutsus and were skilled unlike those two who were more infatuated with Sasuke than with training as a shinobi.

The most shocker of the match not for Shunsui but the rest of the crowd was Sarutobi Asuma Vs Mukai Kohinata.

It was the current match going on as Shunsui looked at the shocked crowd as Mukai had fought for about 5 seconds before ripping out his eyepatch to reveal his Byakugan underneath.

The Hyūga main house knew he was a descendant. Because his family had split from the main clan several generations back, his bloodline was considered "diluted," and many assumed he couldn't awaken a Byakugan.

They did not know he secretly possessed one in his left eye. And now that it was revealed some of the Hyugas in the stands stood up with shock.

And their Byakugans almost fell out of their sockets as they saw Mukai took the stance of Gentle Fist and then did it better than most Hyugas could.

If that was not enough he then performed Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms to end the match with the Third Hokage's son knocked out barely even putting up a fight.

One of the main characters in the future, Asuna Sarutobi, was defeated by him. And Shunsui knew that his words to Mukai in the second round might have played a part in it.

'This should give Asuma, a wake up call to train harder. Honestly, he was a disappointment in Shippuden. He was the son of the third Hokage, one of the senseis of Konoha 12 and he was so easily defeated by Hidan of all people.' Shunsui thought. He hoped that this defeat would break Asuma's ego a little.

Shunsui then lookrd at Mukai who challengedly gazed at him, 'That was good but still...not good enough to beat me.'

He then walked to the battlefield for his match as he looked at Guy who was the most serious he has seen him.

And he had every right to be serious since Guy was going to face him next in the semi finals.
