Zabuza used Hidden Mist Jutsu as thick mist surrounded the battlefield. The white fog rolled in quickly, covering the arena and making it hard for anyone to see clearly.
Zabuza's voice came from within the fog, low and threatening. "Now then let me show you why they call me the Demon of the Hidden Mist. My silent killing..."
Before Zabuza could completely mutter his words, a strong wave of heat erupted like a shockwave that clashed with the cold air of the mist.
Both airs clashed and climbed into the sky, leaving the field cleared in an instant.
"Fire Style: Heat Shockwave Jutsu," Guy had used the jutsu to send the mist away.
By pushing back the fog completely, Zabuza's position was revealed. The crowd cheered loudly at the impressive counter, impressed by how quickly Guy had dealt with one of Kiri's famous techniques.
Zabuza though was not someone to back down if his Plan A did not work.
'Water Release: Wild Water Wave,' he weaved quick hand signs. He spewed water from his mouth at Guy, but Guy moved fast enough to dodge the wave.
Sadly for Zabuza he did not have the chakra reserves of Kisame to spew large amounts of water that could cover a large area.
As he tried to aim at Guy again, Guy appeared next to him. He made hand signs with his hands while his leg was aimed at Zabuza.
Guy shouted, "Fire Style: Blazing Tiger Kick!" His leg caught flames that caught Zabuza in his chin and sent him flying while dousing his body with flames.
The powerful kick combined with fire created a spectacular sight as Zabuza flew through the air with flames covering him.
Before he could completely be burned, Orochimaru appeared near him and somehow with a wave of his hand the flames disappeared.
He would not really have bothered to save even a Konoha genin but yet he saved Zabuza because Hokage wanted everyone to see Konoha's willingness for peace and no senseless killing.
"Winner of the match is Might Guy," he said as Guy jumped with a fist pumped up. "Yoshhhh!"
Guy celebrated loudly, running around the arena with his arms raised high while shouting about the flames of youth.
The crowd cheered even louder for the energetic Konoha genin who had defeated one of Kiri's promising talents so decisively.
Zabuza was helped off the stage by medical ninja, his body still smoking slightly from the flames.
Meanwhile in the stands where Juzo and Fuguki Suikazan were watching the match along with the now healed Mangetsu and Kisame, the atmosphere was serious.
Juzo said with no change in expression as he saw Zabuza lose, "It seems Zabuza is not yet ready for Executioner."
Fuguki though snorted, "As if you would give him the blade until he either killed you to take it or you are too old to hold it in your hands."
Juzo ignored Fuguki. "This Might Guy was nothing remarkable except for his physique. He is as fast as a jonin as a kid."
"You think he has some Senju or Uzumaki blood in him?"
"No, I think the boy has trained that hard to achieve that level of strength and speed," Juzo said with confidence because he too had done the same.
But even he did not have that level of strength and speed at his age. "Well it seems that the pink kimono kid is not the only weird one in their team," Kisame muttered with a wide grin. At the mention of Shunsui, the two jonin became serious.
"We have to report a Konoha genin has ice release to the Mizukage immediately," Fuguki said.
"He did not use any hand signs as he froze Mangetsu. I do not think that it was ice release but something else," Juzo added.
"And there is what Zabuza told us about him coming from his shadow," Fuguki said.
"You are right. We need more information about his abilities before we could reveal it to the Mizukage. Let us hope we can get that in the next rounds."
Juzo asked Kisame, "What do you think of the boy Shunsui?"
Kisame grinned widely, showing all his sharp teeth. "Don't look at his innocent and lazy smile. He is a schemer behind all of that. He made genin teams from different villages chase us for flags that he took. He also has some unusual abilities. That boy is like a shark hiding in plain sight. He looks harmless but when he bites, you do not see it coming until the water turns red."
"No, it is not just his unusual abilities," Mangetsu added as he still shivered from the cold he still felt in his mind when he was frozen.
"He was playing with me the whole match. He never used his immense speed to attack me but just to show me the difference between us. He matched me blade for blade. He was mocking me as if saying you might be a genius of Kiri, a genius of swordsmanship but I am a better genius than you."
"Even at the end, I am sure that he did not even do what all he is capable of. And his swordsmanship was nothing to scoff at either. As for the ice release, I have no idea, how he managed to do it. He just touched me, said "freeze" and I was frozen like an ice statue." Mangetsu said as he felt another chill in his body.
The Kiri group fell silent after that, each of them thinking about the strange and powerful Konoha genin who had disrupted their plans so easily.
