---Minato P.O.V.---
As the sword duel went on between Shunsui and Mangetsu, Minato knew one fact. Neither Obito nor Rin stood a chance against either of the genin.
Rin was training as an iryo nin so combat was not her main strength, but the same was not true for Obito. He was plenty good for a genin.
Minato thought, 'But a normal genin cannot fight like monsters like them.' He watched the two genin from different villages give a spectacle of swordsmanship.
The blades clashed again and again with skills that was rare for their age. Minato thought, 'They are highly skilled for their age.'
He could see Shunsui using techniques that mostly samurai used in their Kenjutsu. But he had incorporated them in such a way that he could use them while using two blades at the same time.
Minato could also tell that both genin were trained physically judged with how much strength they used behind the blows or how they managed to block the enemy's attack.
The person sitting beside him mumbled, "I am glad that the kid is listening to my advice and trying to gain as less attention as possible."
It was Shikaku who was sitting with his newly wed wife Yoshino. Minato thought, 'Does that mean he is holding back? Shikaku san might know about his abilities considering he is the jonin commander of the village and Choza san's confidant.'
'But I do not think Shunsui is trying his best to get as less attention as possible from other villages. He is fighting the genius of Kiri who is supposed to be the best kenjutsu user their village has ever had and matching him easily,' Minato thought.
And then his eyes widened as he saw Shunsui in a burst of speed circle around Mangetsu and never attacking him as if playing with him like a predator playing with its prey.
Kakashi who was watching with him muttered, "What speed and he is not even using any hand signs so how..."
Kushina who was one of the best sensors in the village with her Uzumaki Kekkei Genkai of Eye of Kagura said, "It is not his natural speed. He is using large bursts of chakra like how samurai use their flash step technique but while he is in the air in the middle of a flash step, he seems to release another burst of chakra further increasing his speed. Truly genius. As expected of such a cute boy."
Minato who was focused on her explanation and could not help but agree. 'Truly genius. To use another burst of chakra with less than half a second in the middle of a movement technique. He seems to have physically trained too for his legs to handle that much strain. So it is both genius and hard work. A truly deadly combination.'
Shunsui seemed to say some words to Mangetsu which they could not hear.
Kakashi muttered, "Well all this speed is useless if he cannot cut the Hozuki. If he does not have any lightning release jutsu, he is as good as done as he cannot hurt him through his water body."
Kushina said, "Oi Kakashi stop being as nonsensical as Obito baka. Shunsui is confident so he definitely can deal with him. He even got a month to prepare for his opponent."
Minato was about to say something when his eyes widened and a "What" escaped his throat which was echoed by most of the stadium.
The "What" seemed to be in higher pitch from the Kiri shinobi and Land of Water citizens attending the Chunin Exams. As they all watched Shunsui using ice release to freeze Mangetsu completely.
"Well that is one way to deal with a Hozuki other than lightning release. But more importantly he can use ice release of Yuki clan? Is he related to a Yuki somehow?" Minato said out loud.
Kushina though was laughing loudly. "It does not matter, he won and look at the Hozuki boy his smirk is frozen like his body hahaha. Let us go Shunsui!!" She shouted while standing up and waving her arms wildly.
She grabbed a pair of chopsticks from somewhere and started drumming them on the seat in front like she was at a festival. "Go Shunsui-chan! Freeze that sword boy into a popsicle! Kushina is cheering for you!!"
Minato hid his face slightly in embarrassment but could not stop smiling at his wife's enthusiastic support.
Minato then heard Shikaku who had heard his words. Shikaku san seemed to sigh. "I guess I spoke too soon. The boy does not understand the meaning of staying low..." He rubbed his forehead tiredly, looking like he had aged several years in a single moment.
The Nara jonin shook his head slowly and muttered, "I told him to keep a low profile. I specifically said low profile. And what does he do? He pulls out ice release in front of the entire village like it is nothing. That boy is going to give me more headaches than all the paperwork waiting on my desk."
Yoshino patted his arm with a small smile while Shikaku continued complaining under his breath about troublesome children and their lack of subtlety.
Minato asked Shikaku,"Shikaku san, if you don't mind me asking, does Shunsui really have Ice release?"
He continued, "He does not have ice release. All I can tell you is well....have you ever played Freeze Tag?"
This confused Minato even more.
