Shunsui moved again towards Mangetsu with relaxed steps. "Ha," Shunsui said as he swung his sword which Mangetsu blocked with his Hiramekarei.
The clash of blades rang out clearly across the arena, sending small sparks flying into the air.
Shunsui immediately followed up with his other blade. "Hai," he muttered eagerly as the second sword came in from a different angle.
Mangetsu had to twist his body quickly to block the follow-up strike, his large blade moving with surprising speed for its size.
The two swordsmen exchanged several more blows in quick succession. Each time Shunsui attacked, he announced his move with a simple sound like "Ha" or "Hai," keeping his voice light and almost playful.
The crowd watched in silence at first, then began murmuring as they saw how easily Shunsui was pressing the attack while still looking like he was holding back.
Mangetsu was forced to defend carefully, his eyes narrowing with concentration as he tried to find an opening.
Shunsui continued his assault with smooth, flowing movements. "Ha," he said again as he swung low, aiming for Mangetsu's legs.
Mangetsu jumped back just in time, the blade cutting through empty air. "Hai," Shunsui followed immediately with an upward strike that forced Mangetsu to bring his sword down in a heavy block.
The force of the clash pushed Mangetsu back a step, but he recovered quickly and countered with a wide horizontal swing. Shunsui ducked under it effortlessly and replied with another "Ha" as he thrust forward.
The fight looked almost like a dance, with Shunsui staying one step ahead while announcing every move.
Mangetsu grew more frustrated with each exchange, his breathing becoming slightly heavier. The Kiri genin realized that Shunsui was not just fighting him but controlling the pace of the battle completely.
Mangetsu backed up to dodge the next strike by disengaging.
"Ooohh," Shunsui said in a drawn-out, almost bored tone as he watched his opponent retreat.
Mangetsu asked with clear irritation, "Why are you uttering utter nonsense in the middle of the fight?" His voice carried across the arena, showing how annoyed he was becoming.
Shunsui said casually, "It is because I am having fun and well... I am giving you a chance to react to my moves by listening to my sounds."
His face turned serious as he added, "Because otherwise you would not have a chance against me." Shunsui appeared right next to Mangetsu once again in a flash step that shocked the Kiri genin. Mangetsu had thought that this speed was just one of thing from Shunsui but it seemed like he could do it again and again.
Mangetsu could not even see him move. The speed was too much for normal eyes to follow. Mangetsu swung his sword in panic but hit only empty air.
Shunsui had already moved behind him. The pattern repeated again and again. Shunsui became a blur of pink and silver, appearing and disappearing around Mangetsu like a ghost.
Each time he reappeared, he delivered a light tap or a near miss with his swords, never going for a killing blow but keeping constant pressure.
The crowd gasped as they tried to follow the rapid movements. Mangetsu spun desperately, swinging his heavy blade in wide arcs to create space, but Shunsui was always one step ahead, his lazy smile never fading.
"Hiramekarei Release," Mangetsu muttered desperately. The sword burst with chakra as Shunsui with a flash step escaped the chakra explosion area.
Hiramekarei true form was shown as the bandages were blown apart. The massive blade transformed, revealing its full power.
"You are not the only one who could dual wield," Mangetsu said as he split the sword into two and fought with renewed aggression.
He now held two powerful blades, swinging them in coordinated attacks that created a deadly zone around him. Shunsui took it easy and lazy, blocking each strike with minimal effort.
He moved like he was strolling through a garden instead of fighting for his life. His swords met Mangetsu's with perfect timing, never allowing the Kiri genin to land a solid hit.
"My my, you are putting in a lot of effort," Shunsui commented lightly as he parried another heavy blow.
Mangetsu flowed chakra into his swords, making them glow with power.
"Oh I can do the same," Shunsui said as he used the sword chakra coating technique of the samurai on his own blades. The twin swords lit up with a smooth, controlled layer of chakra that extended their reach and sharpness.
As Shunsui matched Mangetsu's blades with his own, the clash created bright sparks of chakra.
Mangetsu's eyes widened in surprise at how perfectly Shunsui was using the Samurai's technique while he himself was relying on the blade's own ability to do it for him.
"Tell me, do you feel despair or are you still arrogant enough to believe you can beat me?" Shunsui asked with a lazy smile as their blades locked together.
"I admit you are good with the blades but it does not matter if you cannot hurt me. You would get tired eventually and then I will kill you," Mangetsu said through gritted teeth.
"I cannot cut you that is true but I could do much worse to you," Shunsui said calmly.
"You are lying. I have done my research on you and you definitely do not know a lightning jutsu or even have an affinity for it,"
Mangetsu retorted back.
"Who said about lightning jutsu when I can use Kiri's fabled Kekkei Genkai of Ice Release," Shunsui said as with a step he appeared next to Mangetsu and touched him while muttering "Freeze."
Mangetsu could not react to his speed still. Mangetsu looked in horror as he saw his body freezing. His clan hidden ability being completely useless against the sudden ice that spread across his limbs.
The stadium watched in stunned silence as a Konoha genin used the fabled Ice Release of the Yuki clan of Kiri against a Kiri genin.
