"What are you going to do if we do not leave?" Zabuza asked as he readied his sword.
He held it in a ready position. His eyes narrowed at Shunsui with clear challenge and confidence. He expected the Konoha boy to prepare for a real fight after his bold words.
Shunsui smirked beneath his straw hat. "I am going to shout. I am going to shout very loud," Shunsui said as if it was meant to scare the Kiri genin.
Zabuza laughed loudly at the unexpected answer. "I thought you were different but even you are just a scaredy cat? What does your shouting do? Would someone come to help the little princesses?" His tone full of ridicule.
Zabuza continued with a cruel smile, "Are you going to cry for your mommy to come save you? Or maybe you will call the Hokage himself to wipe your tears after we beat you? Pathetic. I expected more from a Konoha genin who acts so tough with his pretty pink clothes."
Kisame chuckled nearby as he fought Mukai, clearly enjoying the way his teammate was making fun of Shunsui. The words were meant to anger the boy and make him lose focus before any real fighting started.
Shunsui said, "Well let us find out shall we." He put some chakra into his throat to amplify his voice so it would carry far through the trees.
"I found the Kiri genins!" He shouted as his voice echoed through the Forest of Death. The loud call rang out clearly, bouncing between the tall trees and spreading in every direction.
Zabuza looked at Kisame and Kisame looked at Zabuza and they both looked at Shunsui with confusion.
Shunsui smiled innocently. "If I were you I would start running." His tone stayed relaxed, as if giving friendly advice instead of a warning.
Zabuza said with heavy mockery, "What... little boy got scared and called his mommy? Is your mommy going to come and spank us for being bad with her weak son?"
Zabuza laughed again and added, "It should be you that should be running away. Run along now, princess. Go hide behind your village elders while real shinobi handle the forest."
Shunsui just kept on smiling without getting angry. He remained calm and composed, which only made the Kiri pair more cautious.
Mukai's visible eye widened as he felt something approaching. And then after a few more seconds, everyone present heard shouts coming from all sides along with the sound of rapid footsteps.
Many genin from different villages were rushing toward the noise. Zabuza and Kisame looked around as they saw genin from different villages coming up quickly. "There they are, the cowards of Kiri," one genin shouted angrily.
"Finally we found you. Did you think you could just steal our flags?" another one yelled while running forward with his team.
"You shark faced thief, give back what you stole," a third genin called out.
"Kiri scum always running instead of fighting fairly," someone else added with hatred in their voice.
"You think hiding in mist makes you strong? You are just pathetic cowards," a genin from a small village shouted.
"My team worked hard
To protect that flag and you took it like dirty bandits," another one complained loudly.
"When we catch you, we will make you regret ever coming to these exams," a final voice promised as more teams arrived.
Kisame and Zabuza were confused by the sudden arrival of so many angry opponents.
Zabuza tried to say, "What are you all...." Shunsui cut him off quickly. "We caught them red handed trying to steal our flag. Thankfully we had someone who could use a wind style that made the mist fly away and we managed to see them before they ran away with our flag." His explanation sounded completely believable to the gathered genin.
Kisame who had managed to snag away Team Minato's flag after the entire field was engulfed with water by swimming through it held it in his hand.
Everyone turned their eyes to them with clear anger. "Get them!!" Someone shouted as every genin jumped at them with weapons ready. The forest suddenly filled with the sounds of battle cries.
Kisame who appeared next to his teammate looked at the approaching genin. "Should we fight?" Kisame asked.
"No they are too many of them. We will just tire ourselves and then there is the weird guy," Zabuza said looking at Shunsui who somehow had let so many genin attack them. He knew that they had called into some trap.
Zabuza and Kisame saw more and more genin teams arriving and decided to move away quickly. Zabuza made hand signs as he cast the Water Style Water Wave Jutsu.
Another wave of water erupted engulfing the area. Both Zabuza and Kisame used the water to move as they were more skilled with it.
The genin after recovering from the water wave completely wet decided to follow them. "Let us go they cannot escape us!!!"
"Wahhhh," the chasers shouted as they ran after the Kiri pair with determination.
Shunsui along with Obito, Rin and Mukai watched the Kiri shinobi running away as more than a dozen genin teams from different villages chased them.
Shunsui tugged his kimono tighter around himself to prevent anyone from seeing their flags that he was carrying.
He shouted as he pretended to run to follow the Kiri shinobi, "You cowards better not steal any more flags while running away like scared cats. We are coming for all of you!" His voice carried a mix of fake anger.
When everyone disappeared, Shunsui looked with a satisfied smile at Team Minato who looked very confused to him.
Shunsui though then felt a little sad since he could not fight with two of the future Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. 'Now was not the time to fight them. They will have the chance to be humiliated at the centre stage when there is a crowd watching.'
