Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Roommates

"The last one, Tang Wulin, right?"

This was the last student left to deal with.

Long Hengxu's gaze fell on Tang Wulin. He lowered his head to look at the records, and his tone softened slightly.

"I've already learned the details of what happened. This isn't your fault, so I won't punish you. However, your Martial Soul, Blue Silver Grass, was originally assigned to class five anyway."

Tang Wulin raised his head in surprise. He thought he would be punished. After all, no matter what, he was unharmed, while Zhou Changxi was severely injured.

It seemed this teacher wasn't as fierce and cold as he looked.

"Don't celebrate yet," Long Hengxu said flatly. "Although there was a reason, the damage to public property still needs to be compensated. I will have the finance department calculate the repair cost for the window later, and you remember to pay the money."

"Pay money?" Tang Wulin froze. He didn't have any money.

Intermediate Academy provided compulsory education, including food and lodging, so he hadn't brought much money.

Moreover, his family's financial situation didn't allow it.

He only had the three thousand federation coins his father gave him, which was his allowance for the entire semester.

"No."

Arthur stepped forward.

Everyone looked at him in confusion.

"Zhou Changxi must pay for this money."

Speaking objectively.

In Arthur's view, the cause was Zhou Changxi trying to bully his roommate.

Even if Zhou Changxi was the one who suffered, and Tang Wulin was fine, it didn't change the fact.

Bullying is bullying.

He should be the one to pay the compensation.

"This..." Long Hengxu hesitated. If any other student dared to contradict him, he would have long since thrown them out.

But the one contradicting him happened to be Arthur. If he displeased Arthur, the Young Master of the East Sea, he might be expelled by the principal tomorrow just for stepping into the academy with his left foot first.

Tang Wulin's Martial Souls lifted, and he looked at Arthur gratefully.

Zhou Changxi was displeased, his face turning ashen. Just as he was about to speak, he noticed Tang Wulin's happy figure, and the wounds on his body immediately began to ache faintly, forcing him to abandon his rebuttal.

Instead, he cast a pleading look toward Long Hengxu.

Teacher, Teacher, quickly say something to him! Why are you just watching?

"Fine." Finally, Long Hengxu's cold voice brought the matter to a close.

"You may all go back. If you fight again next time, I will put a record of it in your files. These files will affect whether you can advance to higher education and become a Mecha Master in the future."

Leaving the disciplinary office, Arthur headed straight for the dormitory. He hadn't made his bed yet, and he wondered if his other roommates had arrived.

At this moment, Tang Wulin approached him, his eyes sincere and his tone earnest as he thanked him: "Thank you. My name is Tang Wulin. May I ask your name?"

"I will repay you in the future."

"It's a small matter. I just can't stand campus bullying." Arthur's eyes flickered, and he reached out to rest his hand on Tang Wulin's other shoulder.

"Don't talk about repayment. Just do something for me."

"What is it?"

"You two are roommates. Help me keep an eye on Zhou Changxi. If he bullies anyone else in the future, tell me immediately."

"Huh?"

Tang Wulin was initially disbelieving, but then immediately promised, "Okay, I'll definitely watch him."

At the same time, he sighed inwardly, marveling that Arthur was truly a person full of righteousness. Sure enough, the city wasn't full of bad people; there were good people like his senior sister and Arthur.

The sound of Arthur mentioning his intention to go to class five in the disciplinary office flashed through Tang Wulin's mind, and he silently decided that he would learn more from him in class from now on.

Back in the dormitory, people had already occupied the upper and lower bunks of one of the beds.

"Are you our roommate?" One of them, who was quite handsome with sweeping bangs across his forehead, raised his hand to greet him, appearing very friendly.

Arthur, however, detected a hint of arrogance in his tone. His friendliness was based on confidence in his own strength.

Before Arthur could respond, the other person spoke first: "Hello, my name is Wang Jinxi. My Martial Soul is the Bone Dragon King. May I ask what your Martial Soul is?"

Wang Jinxi was extremely thin, and his eyes were cold and dark. At a glance, he seemed to constantly exude a gloomy aura.

"Huh?" Zhang Yangzi was slightly surprised. He knew his childhood friend's personality well; usually, he was the one who took the initiative to interact with others. Why had Wang Jinxi changed today?

Martial Soul?

Suddenly reacting, Zhang Yangzi felt that something was slightly off with his Martial Soul, but it was very subtle, only noticeable upon closer inspection now.

"Hello, my name is Arthur. My Martial Soul is the Excalibur. You can also call it the Holy Sword."

Arthur hadn't considered hiding his twin spirits. In this era, twin spirits didn't offer as much advantage as they did ten thousand years ago, so there was nothing to hide.

However, when introducing himself to others, he usually only mentioned the Holy Sword unless necessary.

He was too lazy to mention the Holy Spear because when he attended Elementary Academy, the children kept asking him endless questions out of curiosity, which annoyed him.

"Holy Sword?"

Just by the sound of it, they knew it likely possessed the Light attribute.

Compared to Zhang Yangzi's outgoing nature, Wang Jinxi was more meticulous. The moment Arthur entered, he noticed his Martial Soul was being suppressed.

His Bone Dragon King Martial Soul possessed the Dark attribute, so it appeared to be suppressed by the other party's Light attribute.

Suppression was forming without even summoning the Martial Soul. Just how potent was the Light attribute of this Holy Sword Martial Soul?

This was also why Wang Jinxi had introduced himself first; he held the most basic respect for powerhouses.

"Um, my name is Zhang Yangzi, and my Martial Soul is the Dark Illusory Demon Eagle." Since his childhood friend had taken the lead, Zhang Yangzi had no choice but to follow.

"There's still one person left in our dorm. Hasn't he arrived yet?"

Opening his luggage and taking out his quilt to make his bed, Arthur didn't stop talking, chatting with the roommates he would be spending a long time with.

"Yes, when we arrived, only your luggage was here. The remaining person hasn't arrived yet."

Gradually, Arthur became familiar with them.

Just as they were chatting happily, an unkind voice interjected.

"Quite lively, aren't we?"

A slightly gloomy teenager walked in from outside the door. His tone was sharp and harsh, making others uncomfortable.

He pointed at Arthur.

"Hey, you, scram to the upper bunk. I want the lower bunk."

Although it looked like a casual gesture, the gloomy teenager was actually very annoyed by Arthur's handsome appearance.

His sunny and handsome looks made him jealous.

"Sigh..."

Arthur sighed helplessly. He just couldn't understand why so many people liked to bully others right at the start of the school year.

First, it was Zhou Changxi, and now this person.

"I'm talking to you! Hurry up and move aside."

The gloomy teenager approached, seemingly intending to push him.

"Tch."

Slap!

Arthur impatiently delivered a backhanded slap across his face. The speed was so fast that even Zhang Yangzi, who possessed an Eagle-type Martial Soul and was watching, couldn't clearly see the movement.

Thud.

That slap was extremely vicious. The gloomy teenager traced an arc through the air, spinning two and a half times before smashing onto the floor.

"You... you're courting death!"

His right cheek was numb from the slap, and the gloomy teenager's speech was slightly slurred as he angrily got up.

Two yellow spirit rings emerged beneath his feet, a blue light flickered across his body, and a small Green Snake appeared on his shoulder.

"Mediocre."

Arthur didn't even want to use his Martial Soul. He instantly closed in, ready for close-quarters combat, intending to crush the opponent with sheer physical stats.

Facing the rapidly charging figure, the gloomy teenager couldn't react in time; the speed was simply too fast.
